Regarding the growing wait to see the late President Reagan lying in state.
...I am overjoyed to see it. I wish I could be there. I woudl gladly wait 24 hours or more to be honored to see him lying in state. Myself and my family will be there in spirit.
I pray that the masses who desire to see him amaze everyone...that they are so numberless that they cannot be contained. I pray that they will wait as long as necessary and be glad and willing to do so, in California and in DC...white, black, yellow, brown and red.
I pray that it becomes such a phenomena that the press can't hide it, that they are at a complete loss of wors to explain it... that their socialist/liberal programs and voices are in fact left utterly speechless by it!
This is my prayer for this week of mourning and honor for the former President Ronald Reagan and his great all-American legacy...a legacy that will show him to be on of the top tow or three greatest presidents this nation had evr had, or that we have been blessed by God to see in office.

Couldn't help myself here. With all of the little jabs, inuendo and ouright lies and offensive statements about him the week of his death...this is my prayer to put all of that to rest.
I don;t care what ABC says about his "approval ratings"...when it came time for Americans to go to the polls and participate in the only approval ratings that mattered...when they voted for him...he won by the most overwhelming landslides imaginable.
They can never talk that down...it stands, like his actions, as a marker and pillar to his goodness and impact.
...and the people (the vast majority of them) know it. p>

He had the courage to do what was right for our defenses. Sad that we've not had any more like him since....

I pray that it becomes such a phenomena that the press can't hide it, that they are at a complete loss of wors to explain it... that their socialist/liberal programs and voices are in fact left utterly speechless by it! I was just watching the lines on TV and then listened to some people that had waited in line for hours and hours in California.
I read we are a 50/50 divided nation. That Bush and Kerry are literally tied in the polls. But when I see things like the outpouring of love for Reagan by the throngs that are willing to wait hours to pay their respects, it just makes me wonder if this country is as divided, politically, as it seems.

I believe you are exactly right in those sentiments.
President Reagan...even in dying...awakens the true feelings of Americans about their nation, their liberty and their values. It makes one weep to think about it.
I pray it translates in the vote accordingly.

We must keep in mind that a part of the 'progressive' [as in Progressive Caucus, socialism/communism, etc.] philosophy is to destroy any heroes. Heroes are bad for the cause. Heroes show that people can rise above expectations. Remember how the leftists had to try to tear down the heroism of Pat Tillman?
Many politicians get elected every year. Many politicians serve and have served in our Federal government. Few of those politicians, however, are or have been statesmen. A statesman is one who rises above the politics and does what is best for the Nation, not for him. Few people ever attain such a true status.
Politicians are a dime a dozen. Statesment are the true leaders who, going against the common wisdom of the day, step up and change the Nation and the World for the better.
Ronald Reagan was a true statesman, in the same character of Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt. They were men who faced to tough situation and made tough decisions, not for political expediency, but for the survival of their Nations.

I do have to give kudos to CBSnews webfeed for providing unnarrated continuing coverage of the viewing of President Reagan at the Reagan Library.

I pray that the outpouring is impossible to ignore, and that the message is clear to all...meaning clear to all American citizens who will take that message, which is coming form their heart, and act upon it.

And I hope more dress for the occasion than I've seen so far. It's disconcerting to see so many people walking by his casket in jeans, sweats, and other casual clothes. Respect is more than just showing up, durn it.

You are right...but better that they show up, paying him as best respect as they can...than to not show at all.
I haven't heard of or seen anyone acting disrespectful, regardless of how they have dressed.
It further demonstrates the magic, goodness, strength and spirit of Reagan's appeal that so many come, so varied...but all paying the best respect they know how.

This has also been part of my prayer.
I have also been praying that his words will inspire many as they did so many of us.
I am praying that his straight talking way will sink in to many of our conservative leaders who have become afraid to be politically incorrect. That they will see clearly that they do not have to compromise their principles.
Your prayer is already coming true, except the liberal press seeing it.
I will be agreeing in prayer with you.
Jam 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
To: Delphinium
Thank you so much, for reading the thread, for your sentiments...and for joining me in this prayer.
...and for those scriptures which bind our prayers to the will of the Father.
The lines and outporuing in Washington DC are going to even be larger...much larger.
May that occurance, and the occurances of this week move people to read more of Reagans words, study his actions and impact...and develop in their own hearts and souls an equal love and commitment (a commitment rooted in positive action) to the liberty of this land and the foundational moral principles upon which it rests...which principles, like the unalienable rights and liberty they undergird, come from the Creator!

"Knowing that intercessory prayer is our mightiest weapon and the supreme call for all Christians today, I pleadingly urge our people everywhere to pray. Believing that prayer is the greatest contribution that our people can make in this critical hour. I humbly urge that we take time to pray-to really pray. Let there be prayer at sunup, at noonday, at sundown, at midnight-all through the day. Let us pray for our children, our youth, our aged, our pastors, our homes. Let us pray for our churches. Let us pray for ourselves, that we may not lose the word 'concern' out of our Christian vocabulary. Let us pray for our nation. Let us pray for those who have never known Jesus Christ and redeeming love, for moral forces everywhere, for our national leaders. Let prayer be our passion. Let prayer be our practice." Robert E. Lee 1864
To: Jeff Head
I have been so emotional about his death this week.
It was much like losing my own father.
Even though I have felt emotional, I have felt the power of God.
I believe God is working mightily at this time, as Ronald Reagan goes to be with him.
To: Delphinium
Another great and beloved man...and a true Christian.
Despite the ravages of war, and despite the cause of Virginia, the Confederacy and States's Rights that he allied himslef with and fought for...and the loss in that fight...he never lost his compassion, his Christianity, his demeanor, his respect or his virtue and honor.
Ronald Reagan won the fight he waged for America against communism and set big government (in terms of its policy and ideology) back on its heels...I pray we can preserve and hold those victories.
