KABC Channel 7 News 11 p.m. Live Report: Line to Reagan Library is a Mile Long...
And that is just the line to catch the shuttle bus to the library...
Red
There is talk that they are going to extend the viewing until 11:00 Tuesday night, an extra five hours and an extra 10,000 people.
I believe it's going all the way to Friday morning.
Thank you California for such respect for a good and honorable man.
I really can't say. When it was announced that he had died, I felt the same way I did when my dad died. That REALLY surprised me and it seems that there are literally millions that felt the same way. I guess that doesn't make a lot of sense but my reaction caught me completely off-guard.
It is very difficult to keep my composure while talking about his greatness
However long the wait is, it is worth it if you can make it.
Here's a thread with my experience:

This is the sort of thing you'll remember doing for the rest of your life.. don't miss the opportunity...
Beautiful. So John F'n Kerry gets to stand in line 6 hours(something he hasn't had to do in probably 30+ years, oh his ackin' dogs), or cuts the line(which looks bad) or flip-flops and backs out of going(which looks bad).
California is Reagan Country... especially Simi Valley, the location of his library...
I believe D.C. will be swamped.
Today I started getting a sinus headache, which I haven't had in six months; it finally occurred to me that I have been "sniveling" on and off since last Friday with the D-Day stuff and Reagan.
Moving times for us all.
You're right .. it's just that if you listen to some of the news .. one gets the impression that CA hates republicans
I should know better ...
Thinking of Kerry standing in line with all those Reagan fans just give me a delicious image similar to Principal Ed Rooney getting on the school bus at the end of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"....
>>Thinking of Kerry standing in line...
He'd never stand in line. The schmuck.
Why doesn't he just go to DC ???
Wouldn't that make more sense?
From the Washington Post today:
Capitol Police Chief Terrance W. Gainer said public viewing of the coffin will begin about 9 p.m. tomorrow and continue, without interruption, until about 7 a.m. Friday.
CA is a very odd state, politically speaking... Elects Reagan two terms, then Jerry Brown, then elects some dull as wood moderates, then recalls one of those dull as wood moderates after he was pushed into being a leftist by the legislature...
Oh, he's going to D.C., too!
I suspect he's trying to get the "money shot," as they say; you know, him and Reagan's casekt before Bush gets in the picutre.
He's desperately trying to make himself look like the president in waiting.
Supposedly he is out there for his daughter's graduation from film school. So since he is in the neighborhood, and since his campaign is suspended, and since there will happen to be TV cameras nearby to capture him not campaigning....
Like so many of his decisions, this one will likely backfire. Here's a preview:
