"Now he belongs to the ages" is what Secretary Stanton said as Lincoln died at his deathbed. Mona should have acknowledged that. Maybe she just knew the phrase somehow, and did not know why.

"Carter's counsel, Lloyd Cutler, had even proposed amending the Constitution to make the United States government more like a parliamentary system. Carter himself thought the problem lay in the American people, not in him."

What a weasel! That's scary that Cutler advocated changing the Constitution to make it more idiot-proof for his ineffective boss -- and a glimpse into the mindset of a liberal. Failing at something? Don't try to get better, just change the system to the lowest common denominator. God bless Ronald Reagan for bringing effective leadership and proving that yes, one man could do the job and do it well.

Shakespeare had it right. Think of Reagan when you read this excerpt from "Hamlet":

See, what a grace was seated on this brow;
Hyperion's curls; the front of Jove himself;
An eye like Mars, to threaten and command;
A station like the herald Mercury
New-lighted on a heaven-kissing hill;
A combination and a form indeed,
Where every god did seem to set his seal,
To give the world assurance of a man...
