From www.dennisprager.com:
The Latest:
March with Dennis! Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, June 8, starting at 8:30am in front of the Hall of Administration at Temple and Grand. Dennis will be there,
leading the way to save the Cross on the County seal.
Bring signs! Bring your passion!
Let's not let the ACLU Taliban and their collaborators change Los Angeles history.
There is good parking in city lots nearby.
Don't Let Them Change the LA County Seal!
Stop the ACLU!
Call, fax, email or write to the Supervisors Molina, Burke and Yaroslavsky and tell them you want to keep the seal just as it is.
Here's a list of numbers and addresses. http://lacounty.info/Contact%20Information%20-%20English.pdf or http://bos.co.la.ca.us
Here's a picture of the Los Angeles County Seal that the ACLU wants to change. They want the county to remove the Cross because they think it makes people who are not Christian uncomfortable.
Click here to see the seal.

Warning: The parking COSTS. The best is across the street from the Hall of Admininstration underneath the ass-ugly cathedral, I think it was $7 last time I was there.

Next thing you know, PETA is going to complain about the fish and and cow on the seal.
I'll shoot off a couple of emails. I do the carpool thing at 8:30, so I can't make it.

Thanks for the ping, Ron.
I am now totally confuse. I have read reports that the board had agreed to change the seal to avoid a lawsuit but when I called two of the LA county administrators' offices last week and they told me incorrectly that no decision had been made.
So which is it?
With the death of Ronald Reagan my thoughts have been with him but I hope to continue my quest of fighting any change in the seal.

I saw a rundown of the county supervisors. This thing's a done deal already. They caved before they were even asked.

They are voting tomorrow about changing the cross to a mission or indigenous people (MORE PAGANS). Supervisor Antonovich announced on Dennis Prager this morning that he is introducing a motion to seek outside counsel since the County Counsel lawyer that advised the Board was biased and did not look at other cases that said the cross did not violate the Constitution.
Keep up the calls to the Supervisors: www.lacounty.info
There are lawyers outside of County employment that are willing to take on the case for FREE!!!!! Keep up the pressure.

Thanks.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but the cost of changing everything from county stationary to county seals thoughout Los Angeles would probably be astronomical!
That said, interesting that Prager, a Jew, has led the charge against such a change.

As a County employee, I know the following:
To replace one seal on a vehicle is $64. There are up to 3 seals per vehicle, depending on the type. One department that I know of has 802 vehicles... and then there is Public Works, Libraries, Health Serivces, Sheriff, Fire, etc.
There are 89,000 employees that have badges with the seal. They cost us $5 to replace. $445,000.
Oh and don't forget:
Every set of entry doors to a County building
Flags inside and outside the buildings
Service pins and proclaimation seals

They are talking about a bogus "compromise" where they will "keep the mission" but remove the guilty cross.
Of course, without the cross, the "mission" is just a tiny hut in the seal.

Because of the religious implication of sainthood, the Council will also be voting to change the name of the San Andreas Fault to George Bush's Fault.

This fight is pointless. The ACLU has been suing and having crosses removed from seals all over this country for a few years now. And the Supreme Court has consitently ruled in thier favor.
Until our congressional leaders get serious about their responsibilities to regulate a run-a-muck judiciary we the people are just wasting out time, dollars, and breath fighting this thing.
Some citizens group should draft some proposed ammendments etc and use it as a lithmus test for electing house and senate represenatives.

I listened to Dennis Prager's show today in Philly.
As he stated, this is bigger than a seal, it is about the ACLU becoming the Taliban of America, in that they are attempting to cover up the role of religion, specifically Christianity, in this country, just as the Taliban erased the history of Buddhism in Afghanistan by destroying the Binymin Buddhas there.
It is also a classic totalitarian, Orwellian ploy, in re-writing history to remove the role that Christianity played in settling Califoria.
As Mr. Prager stated, this is about more than a seal, this is about erasing history and controlling reality.
ACLU = American Taliban.
