Even in death, Ronald Reagan has lifted the spirits of America. Dow up 142; NASDAQ up 42; S&P up 18.

John Kerry is on deathwatch.

Children of America are asking their teachers, "Who was Ronald Reagan?"

The NEA is screaming in pain.

It's wonderful so many people wish to pay their respects to Ronald Reagan, the greatest president in this lifetime. Only wish is they would dress decently when doing so -- too many polo shirts, baseball caps, and other casual clothing. Men should wear a suit or coat & tie, and women a dress, conservative suit/pantsuit, or similar suitable attire.

A liberal friend of mine today said that President Reagan took gifts from military contractors who benefited from his defense budgets. Is this true?

A liberal friend of mine today said that President Reagan took gifts from military contractors who benefited from his defense budgets. Is this true? I mean no disrespect to the Gipper by this question. I just wanted an answer to tell my friend tomorrow. I think Reagan was one of the top Presidents of our history, along side Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Lincoln and Roosevelt.

Found this while perusing RR tribute sites. Don't know if it's proper to post someones advertisement, but thought it would be of interest none-the-less.

You all will have to forgive the ramblings but after reading these posts and watching the news coverage today I just had to add my thoughts.

I am to young to remember Ronald Reagan's presidency and policies but I can recall as a child being proud to have him as my president. Since his presidency my mother has continued to tell us what a great man he was and sang his praises so often that I became very fond of him myself.

I grew up in a conservative household but could have cared less about politics until this last election. Pregnant with my first child I began to care alot more about where my country was headed and the future that awaited my children. I still have a ton of things to learn about politics but thanks to FR and the rest of you I'm learning daily.

I really don't know why I'm posting except to say I'm so glad to have found a place like FR where I can learn about such a great man from such great people. You guys are so awesome!
