Do I hear ANY kind of grateful noises from McClintock supporters?
To: FairOpinion
It's sad that you would pick such a day to attempt to incite discord.
God bless Ronald Reagan.

Give up fighting this battle. It is over. Why continue to sow discord? What does it accomplish? McClintock was my first choice, but I am pleased Arnold won. I am pleased Arnold is helping McClintock out. Is seat is not entirely safe. Again, my wish is that you cease and desist going down this road. FWIW.

Do I hear ANY kind of grateful noises from McClintock supporters? What's your problem?
I supported McClintock, but he lost. So since the election I have been wishing Arnold all the success in the world, particularly when it comes to killing tax hikes and getting California's fiscal house in order.
You seem to believe that people who supported Tom want Arnold to fail. I do not think for a second that that is true. I think that people who supported Tom want to see Arnold succeed in every conservative initiative he undertakes (like killing tax hikes and getting California's fiscal house in order, for example.).
In the meantime, yes, I am grateful that Arnold is able to raise tremendous amounts of funds for Republicans, including conservatives such as Tom McClintock. But if Arnold suddenly gets too cozy with the goofball liberals out there, it will be duly noted here on Free Republic and Arnold will get beat up. That's okay with you, right?

LH

A lot of McClintock's support stems not so much from his conservative stands, but the fact that he ran as an outsider challenging the establishment. Many people find political mavericks appealing. Now that McClintock is accepting campaign aid from Arnold, many of McClintock's supporters will see him as an insider now, and not support him anymore.

Give it a rest. Everyone else has.
Certainly Tom and Arnold have.

Schwarzenegger raising fortune for allies (Republicans) I mean, really. Was the parenthetical necessary? If the anti-Arnold people are that stubborn, screw 'em.

I'd also add to this post that Mayor Bloomberg has given huge sums of money to the GOP via the RNC, the NRCC, the NRSC, and individual candidates. I think he had to curtail it after McCain-Feingold, but the number was about half-a-million dollars or so-- a huge chunk of change.

Good for Arnold. After sweeping in at the last minute of a race he did zilch to bring about, he's making good and then some. Thank you much Govenator

Don't you understand?
When scorched-earthers swarm all over any event or article that dulls any shame they might feel over their reprehensible behavior and words during the recall, and (at best) maintain absolute silence over any positive Schwarzenegger accomplishment, they're being Principled, Real Conservative Republicans. Any time to do this, in any manner, is the right time, and the right way.
And when you point any of that out, you're being divisive. Any time you do that, in any manner, is the wrong time, and the wrong way.
They must never apologize for slander and malice.
You must always apologize for objecting to or pointing out their slander and malice.
It's just that simple.

Yes, you do. And intern working for Senator McClintock told me they were very grateful to the governor.
