A lot of McClintock's support stems not so much from his conservative stands, but the fact that he ran as an outsider challenging the establishment. Many people find political mavericks appealing. Now that McClintock is accepting campaign aid from Arnold, many of McClintock's supporters will see him as an insider now, and not support him anymore.

Can't you people wait until President Reagan is in his grave before you make him roll over?

For pete's sake. Show some dignity.

If anyone attracted supports for his actual stands, rather than some amorphous rebel stuff, it was McClintock. He won this rather moderate Pubbie over, who is quite establishment oriented. The guy just had it right about the issues that mattered at the time.

McClintock was NEVER an outsider. Schwartzenegger was.
