Chris Simcox's Tombstone Border Report, 6-04-04
American Patrol ^ | 06-04-2004 | Chris Simcox

Posted on 06/06/2004 12:26:16 PM PDT by NewRomeTacitus

Between June 6 and June 12, Civil Homeland Defense of Tombstone will be deploying at least 40 skilled civilians into the field to help the beleagured U.S. Border Patrol "seal the border," as was promised by officials of DHS. Twenty-four hour patrols will be conducted in Palominas, a renowned hotbed of illegal alien border-crossers and drug smugglers. Saying that "civil homeland defense begins with securing our borders," Chris Simcox, editor of the Tombstone Tumbleweed and head of Civil Homeland Defense, has promised to guide volunteers from all over the United States to aid the federal government in the performance of its duties.

ABC (Arizona Border Control Initiative) promised to put 250 additional agents in Arizona, supplemented by UAV's (unmanned aerial vehicles) to track alien movement by June first. A spokesman for USBP admitted that only 25% of the additional agents promised have been deployed, and they are the "Bor-STAR" (Border Search And Rescue) agents, primarily to assist trespassers in distress. Experienced agents are still being "selected and transferred." There are no UAV's to guide agents to their targets, although the technology is available and ready.

While Robert Bonner in Washington blithely assures citizens that illegal immigration is declining, the Border Patrol statistics from the Tucson Sector tell the truth: illegal immigration for FY 2004 beginning in October through May 31, 2004 is up almost 60% over last year, at 337,481 apprehensions. IT is estimated that at least 1,700 aliens A DAY are apprehended crossing the border from Mexico into Arizona. And while the USBP will not release the number of illegal aliens arrested for other crimes committed either in Mexico or the United States, the rate of felony arrests is up over 800% over this time last year!

On Memorial Day weekend, the volunteers of Civil Homeland Defense spotted 150 illegals crossing and aided the Border Patrol in apprehending 45 of them. Border Patrol agents are getting scarcer and scarcer, as warm weather brings more flocks of illegals and potential terrorists swarming across Arizona's poorly-defended border.

Civil Homeland Defense' volunteers will do all they can to "shut the border down" in the Palominas area in June. There will be no charge to the government or the public for this service.

I notice no more talk of "legalization" from 1900 Pennsylvania Ave. since he singlehandedly created the new "Citizenship Rush" with his ill advised remarks on January 7.

I can only pray that he can keep his mouth shut every time he even thinks about discussing immigration. I'm sure Ridge and Rummy are still recovering from The Rove fiasco in January.

Rumors are that they now personally review his cue cards before he steps in front of a camera so that he doesn't run up millions in addition boarder security costs as he did in January. They need all the cash they can lay their hands on to fight the Islamists.

800% increase in Felony arrest. And the PD's probably have about the same number of LEO's on the force. Make me wonder how many crimes are not accounted for by arrest and what the REAL increase of criminal border invaders might be.

While I mourn the passing of a beloved president as much as anyone we know he screwed the pooch with the 1986 amnesty. What many don't know is that it was more structured and conditional than the one President Bush tried to float. As Reagan's was abused to death by succeeding agendas we certainly can not ignore that lesson.

I pray that the terrorists won't successfully pull off any attacks on us. If they should I hope the losses are minimal and serve only to fortify American resolve. Too many members dismiss the government's disregard of our security, somehow believing that the erasure of sovereignty is good for our country's future (even writing that sounded insane).

Arizona Democrats are hosting Kerry this week in Phoenix. They happily crow that the state is about to fall in their laps due, in part, to it's rapidly increasing population. I would ask the employers of cheap (criminal) labor if their actions are worth losing what influence they have on their government if I weren't convinced that most business types are congenitally unable to see beyond the next 4th quarter. That government takes it's cues from such non-visionaries astounds me.

Ping list! Anyone wanting off or on my ping list please tell me through FReep mail. I constructed it by noting who makes a habit of commenting on the subject of illegal immigration. If you have your own list please include me (searching can be a dirge at times).

Most of us in the border states harbor deep resentment towards ANY politicians who encourage more illegal immigration, either through their pandering or their refusal to demand more border control.

Allowing hordes of illegal aliens to enter our country and making us pay for it is the biggest scam on American taxpayers in recent history. Mexicans come over the border over and over again with no problem, what makes the politicians think that terrorists can't do the same? Don't they care? They have families too. Are they all sleeping through this mess?

Some ask me why I'm so interested in the problems of California, Arizona, etc. when I live in Tennessee. I believe if the federal government presumes it has ultimate power and unfairly imposes unfunded mandates that hurts more states than others, we "flyovers" have to see the big picture in order to defend every state from the progressive harm.

You and our brethren in the other border states served as the defensive door of our nation until recent years have seen that door trampled down and the citizens putting up with far more trouble than the Redcoats inflicted when their presence enraged the colonists. Similarly, we have plenty of "loyalist" traitors telling us that we're wrong to oppose the invaders. They, like their historical precursers, need to be run off to the country whose interests they placed over ours. Good luck with the water and please forget to write.

We've been trying to solve this problem the right way when the only option our enemies leave us is the wrong way. When we cite law they subvert the lawmakers. When we point to the employers they manipulate the politicians who depend most upon business contributions. In short, we are hamstrung by our adherence to the rules when forced to deal with pirate tactics.

If they want to be pirates we have to be corsairs. Object, raise hell, call them to the carpet, put up with no bullying or cutting in line. There's a minor tuberculosis epidemic happening directly attributable to illegal students in our classrooms (over 6,000 the last I heard). It would be major news if not for it's source. One American child dying from such a preventable disease is one too many. If you've kept up with this subject you know the invasion is not only spreading disease but outright corruption where it was never seen before.

Fight back or get used to buying lubricant. I feel ashamed that the heroes we are commemorating wouldn't recognize the country they fought to preserve.

While I mourn the passing of a beloved president as much as anyone we know he screwed the pooch with the 1986 amnesty

Three Infamous Dates To Remember As Sovereignty Slides Away

November 6, 1986 President Reagan signs the IRCA. The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 was passed to control unauthorized immigration to the United States. Under the amnesty provision, illegal aliens who lived continuously in the United States since before January 1, 1982, could have applied to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) for legal resident status by May 4, 1988, the application cutoff date. The Special Agricultural Worker (SAW) program of IRCA program was included in the law to allow producers of perishable crops, who typically have relied heavily on an illegal labor supply, to adjust to recruiting and hiring legal workers. The program covers most crops but no livestock.

To that date illegal immigrant labor was chiefly employed in the agricultural sector. But, as a consequence of the act, four things followed over the next ten years. 1) Illegal immigration soared because of the hope that it created for Mexico’s poor. 2) The existing system was not able to absorb the rising number of immigrants, which gave rise to vocal and politically active cultural separatists from within its ranks. 3) The surplus of illegal immigrants found their way into the services industries, which provided year around employment, and they started bringing their families north. 4) The Act emboldened liberal politicians nation wide who then expanded the privileges of these aliens.

President Reagan would later admit that his support of the IRCA and its unintended consequences were the one serious error in judgment during his 8 year administration.

April 16, 1999 Governor Gray Davis sends California’s appeal of Judge Pfaelzer’s final ruling with regard to California’s Proposition 187 to federal mediation with the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. This spells the death knell for one of the most widely supported, public backlashes against the consequences of unregulated immigration fostered by the IRCA in 1986.

Rising out of the ashes of the IRCA in 1986 was a swelling illegal immigrant population in California that was being accorded access to more and more tax supported infrastructure by its liberal legislature and sweeping inclusions by the federal bench under the guise of the protection of the 14th Amendment. The populous of California rebelled. Proposition 187, an initiative originating from the people’s anger was rapidly qualified for the November 1994 ballot. The initiative limited the access of illegal immigrants to the tax-supported infrastructure. It passed by a 62% to 36% margin, nearly a two to one margin of approval. Immigrant rights groups quickly challenged the new law and it languished in the federal and state courts for almost 5 years under a permanent injunction until the newly elected Governor Davis secretly submitted it to arbitration.

This sent a clear message to Mexico’s government and its poor that the welcome mat was out in California. Today the state dedicates about 1/3 of its budget ($33B) to meet the needs of the consequences of illegal immigration since WWII.

January 7, 2004 President Bush announces an administration program to take the first steps to "normalize" the residency of millions of illegal immigrants who had been languishing in a gray zone in the US for as much as twenty years. An easy step to short term legal residency and an arduous route to citizenship is offered as an incentive for cooperation.

The announcement produced three immediate consequences. 1) A backlash from taxpayers in the Southwestern US already overburdened by the consequences of the previous mistakes. 2) A backlash from average US citizens over the policy’s effect on our boarder security in the face of a rising tide of terrorist threats. 3) A tremendous rush north by Mexico’s poor as they once again mistakenly assumed that all who come will be welcomed. Boarder incursions in Arizona rose as much as 60% in the weeks and months following the announcement.

Do the BP use any light planes for reconaissance and observation? Does anybody ever see them up above? UAVs are great, but the old Cessna or Piper still works.

They have a variety of single/multi engine fixed and rotary wing aircraft at their disposal.

I'm sorry I missed it. How much a grip on reality Schartzenegger has is anyone's guess, but it would behoove him to know that if he doesn't already. His loose-cannon stance is really getting on my nerves.

They probably fear getting a stinger up the exhaust port.

Heck probably a large caliber automatic rifle would work on a cessna, instead of a stinger....eaiser to get too.

I think that single engine aircraft in a surveillance role with stabilized optical systems operate well above small arms range, several thousand feet up.
