FReeper adam_az posted the following on the thread titled "Ted Kennedy: Reagan won the Cold War." I felt it deserved a thread of its own.

My apologies if this has been posted previously, but I hadn't seen it before. We knew, of course, what John Kerry's positions were in 1984, and certainly President Bush's campaign has made refernce to them. But seeing the actual campaign position papers is rather sobering.

I saw it on that thread too and agree it deserves it's own thread.

Thank you for posting this. As we celebrate the leadership and foresight of RR and his noble cause to destroy the Communist USSR, it is important to highlight the shortsightedness of this opposition.
John Kerry could not have been more wrong in his views in the 80s, and that can still be said today. He opposes the actions of our leadership today in the WOT, just as he did then. He is just as wrong today, as he was then. He puts party politics above strong foreign policy. He will defeated, just as he was then.

It would also be interesting to note here just exactly what Kerry's intentions were as to where all this money saved would be then spent. I can guess, but the hard cold facts would be even better.

Wouldn't Jean sKerry just make an outstanding president? Hehehe...

Huh! Maybe Flipper is not such a flip-flopper as we thought. He wanted to gut the military then and he still wants to destroy it now.

I saw it and agree that more people should see it. I think the RNC should make sure everyone sees it.
Kerry: Wrong then. Wrong now.

Kerry hasn't changed. He is still saying about Iraq and the War on Terror that he will support security over democracy.
Of course, then we won't have security or democracy. Kerry doesn't get that.

This is extremely scary and that he is getting half the vote when history has proven him wrong on everything. Every American needs to see this campaign flyer-as it is- not summarized by the GOP. Print it out and send out millions of copies!

Thanks! This is beautiful. The man who would be the RAT king holding forth in all of his wisdom. The fool doesn't change.
Any dates, purpose or target audience information available? Was this (A) form letter boilerplate sent out from his office to his constituents, (B) campaign literature or is it a (C) document that still might be available through government sources today?

When Kerry proposed the above, his own party found it so outlandish (aka, out of touch with reality) that he received exactly ZERO support and was scorned and scoffed at by his fellow travelers in the RAT party.
However, Communists and Despots the world over thought it was profound and insightful! (LOL)

This should be one of Rush's stack of stuff stories on Monday. Show how kerry has not changed despite the fact that his alies, the USSR, is gone. Kerry is giving the same song and dance but the music has changed.

What I find interesting is that it was Kennedy who put this missle slashing on paper - supporting Kerry's plan.

He will defeated, just as he was then.Kerry won that race in 1984, narrowly defeating Governor William Weld. But just because you can fool a majority of voters in Massachusetts (how easy that apparently is!) doesn't mean you can fool a majority of voters in the United States.
Using a politician's own words against him is a powerful weapon. Before this race is over, John Kerry is going to rue the invention of video cameras, audio tape, and even the printing press.

Has Kerry made any public statement regarding the passing of President Reagan? I don't believe I've heard anything so far.
