I will be with you in spirit, your 1700 miles away, may I snuggest if you are doing it on route one, you set up across the street from Baldi's old district office.

You know where I mean?

I was at Loring AFB in the early 1970's. There was a lot of French culture in the area, but as I remember there was no publically organized anti war, Pro-Enemy Nation demonstrations. I hope things haven't changed in favor of the malignant liberals. However, 30 years of brainwashing by the anti-American radical liberal major media have likely taken a toll as it has elsewhere.

Mrs. Atomic Vomit here for a mid-action report on the Presque Isle Freep:
Loads of smiles, honks, waves and thumbs up to Mr. V's very large "God Bless Ronald Reagan" sign. Very few negatives (how miserable must a person be to give a thumbs down to a sign asking God to bless an old man who has died).
The appeaseniks were nowhere to be seen. They have had a party of four greying pony-tails on Sundays since before the war started but were conspicuously absent today....hmmm. Possible they are only "protesting" every other Sunday - guess we'll just have to go back next weekend and find out!

Well, golly gee, guess what? I live 10 minutes from the West Gate on a good day!  I have lived up here since 1983!

Actually, I think I am the ONLY one up here that even knows a war is going on.  This is farm country.  Hardly anyone watches the news.  It's so sad!  I'm not sure how many have computers up here, but it's not many!  Maybe the teen-agers, but I only know one other gal with a computer that lives down the street.

So, no...........there aren't any anti-war activist's up here, thank God!

Mrs.V here - Mr. V will be at the bridge by the mall till about 1500. He got interviewed by WAGM, and the appeaseniks did finally show up. He'll have a full report when he gets home.
The answer to your question is yes ; )

Wow....you don't see the town of Presque Isle, Maine discussed very often.
I have family there, my mother was born and raised
in nearby Mapleton. She is a STAUNCH conservative, I am proud to say.

Aroostook County is truly God's country (sounds sort of cliche, I know - but it's true).

I agree...I have wonderful memories as a child of going to my grandparents "camp" on Squaw Pan Lake, picking and eating wild strawberries, and climbing Haystack Mountain. :)

And I bet, getting bitten by the flying, fester producing leaches that were called "black flies." I never felt them bite. I just saw a thin trail of blood running down from the bites.

YES! Nasty creatures..........
I also came face to face (well, about 50 feet away from) a moose,
who had been feeding underwater, unbeknownst to me, until he surfaced.
Scared the living daylights out of me!

Sorry I'm so far away in Phoenix, AZ, but my heart is with you in Aroostook. I used to live there and taught at Presque Isle high school back in the 70's.

God bless and good luck! We are there in spirit!!

Well, I also have a moose story. One of the ornery critters decided to see what was happening in our SAC Alert shack. The guard at the door didn't know whether to shoot it (wrong) or run (also wrong). Fortunately, it decided to scram, when the folks started turning over chairs and tables in their haste to depart the area.
