Daschle calls Reagan `icon'

Undated-AP -- Statement from Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle:

"America has lost an icon. Ronald Reagan's leadership will inspire Americans for generations to come. His patriotism and devotion to our country will never be forgotten.

Nice statement. The chaff is not seperating from the wheat on these things yet :-)

For once I am not deeply saddened by Tom Daschle's remarks.

Here's a shocker: Daschle is up for re-election this year... that's why we have hardly heard a peep from him in quite some time... once he's re-elected, he can go back to being a hardcore re-elected. I can't believe the people of S Dakota fall for this schtick over and over and over again..

Why, yes he is.
And from I'm hearing, he's in a tough race and not polling too well.

First Captain Dan (Rather) gets choked up talking about Ronald Reagan and now, Tom Daschle acts like a real human being in public. What's next? Ted Kennedy exalting the true greatness of Ronald Reagan. I won't hold my breath.

...an "icon?" LOL! Yeah, sure, I saw a low rider just the other day with a figurine of Ronald Reagan on his dashboard.

Actually, I already witnessed the RAT plan in action earlier today on C-SPAN (as Reagan was still failing). They will offer faint praise, which they than turn around and use to compare to W's lack of similar qualities. You know, the backhanded compliment?

I think the ol gipper is more dangerous to the dems now than when he was alive. They have to deal with the legend and they don't have the fortitude.

He has become more powerful than they can possibly imagine.

Don't allow the media to spin Reagans death as they did his life. Go to the FR Reagan Vigils post and pledge to organize or attend a vigil in your area.

LOL, I love the Star Wars analogies :-)

I am going to tell my liberal friends that now that Reagan has passed, George W. Bush has become the greatest living president.... and, then I will watch them squirm :-)
