"I had a copy of the Soviet Constitution and I read it with great interest. And I saw all kinds of terms in there that sound just exactly like our own: 'Freedom of assembly' and 'freedom of speech' and so forth. Of course, they don't allow them to have those things, but they're in there in the constitution. But I began to wonder about the other constitutions -- everyone has one -- and our own, and why so much emphasis on ours. And then I found out, and the answer was very simple -- that's why you don't notice it at first. But it is so great that it tells the entire difference. All those other constitutions are documents that say, 'We, the government, allow the people the following rights,' and our Constitution says 'We the People, allow the government the following privileges and rights.' We give our permission to government to do the things that it does. And that's the whole story of the difference--why we're unique in the world and why no matter what our troubles may be, we're going to overcome."

Sad how may freeper don't get this. Ronald Reagan also coined the phrase "jack-booted thugs." Today we have too many sheeple ready to surrender their rights to have the illusion of safety that they may live another day to smell the bootblack again.

It wasnt Ronald Reagan who by executive fiat ended the importation of foreign semi auto military look alikes......

He was the greatest president...I dont know if we will ever have another who loved the America of our fore fathers as he did....or who actually revered the Constitution as he did...

Very sad sad day.....

Don't allow the media to spin Reagans death as they did his life. Go to the FR Reagan Vigils post and pledge to organize or attend a vigil in your area.

I'm watching it now, and you are 100% correct.

The fundamental battles between slavery and Freedom are the same today as they were 40 years ago, and even 240 years ago.

Thanks for the post... I served under RWR after Jimmy Earl left the place... it was night and day! I also got to see him (from a distance) when he came into MCAS Tustin on Marine One... maybe I still have the pics somewhere.

And I am honored that you think highly of my opinions. Thanks for that, as well.
