ABC just announced :( Ronald Reagan was 93
"I know I would, and I would like to think most people at Free Republic would, treat the news with reverence, and respect for his family"
I know that people here would.
Beautiful remarks... I'm smiling and crying and trying to swallow this awful lump in my throat...
"President Reagan transformed our nation's psyche with his optimism and positive vision. He was a strong leader who made a lasting mark on our nation's history. He was gentle and kind and every American can learn from his example." Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
"Ronald Reagan was a true American patriot, a remarkable optimist who shepherded us through the end of the Cold War and into a time of economic prosperity that benefited all of America." U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph.
"Reagan's optimistic vision of human freedom, personal faith, and individual responsibility live as his legacy within the Republican Party and America today. We will always remember him and we will always be grateful." Betsy DeVos, chairwoman of the Michigan Republican Party
He should have said the same sort of thing when Bush fell off his bike. I just don't understand how politicians running for president can be so undisciplined some times.

I feel the same. I never thought I would react like this when Reagan finally passed. I truly loved the man and even forewarned and that he had lived a very long life, I'm choked up.
God Bless Ronald Reagan.
A friend of mine and I are chatting in email right now about this should give us all fresh resolve to continue prying America back from the claws of the left.
I feel like I've lost my father...
We all do.
Amen.
Ford: Betty and I are deepely sadden at the loss of our dear friend...
FNC just said many of the leaders of the G8 and others in attendance will want to pay their respects.
This will dominate this weeks news as america honors Ronald Reagan with gratitude.
Thank you for your beautiful post (#805).
In Dr. Zhivago, when Yuri Zhivago returns after the revolution to find that "wealth has been redistributed"; his home and the city in ruins, with 16 families to a home meant for 1 family, famine, disease, etc. One of the commies says to him, "It is much fairer this way. The revolution cut out the tumors of injustice." Yuri, a physician, replies, "But you tried to cut out the tumors of injustice without preserving life in the vital organs!" I was 20 or so years old when I first saw that movie, and jumped up exclaiming, "REAGAN WAS RIGHT!!!! I KNEW IT!!!"
My date just stared at me with a blank expression. The relationship didn't last.
A true hero. God bless you and thank you for what you did for our country.
Ditto, this is an extremely sad day
President Reagan and Nancy have the same look when they're together.
A new Rushmore would fit quite easily on Mt. Washington in New Hampshire... and it's majestic and very beautiful, it would suit.
"Win one for the Gipper" will become the equal of a prayer for strength.
Democrats have been exposed as a lot smaller in significance again today.
