Margaret Thatcher is an incredible woman. It is truly sad to see this......

God bless that woman.

I'm reflecting on watching the Republican convention in 1968, with my parents. This was the first convention I had ever watched and the beginning of my political awareness. I remember how they pointed out this man, Ronald Reagan, and told me that he would be President one day. Though my parent's are both 4 years gone now, they were right, and it was the first presidential vote that I got to cast. Our family has loved this man for as long as I can remember. I've shed many tears this afternoon.

God Bless You, President Reagan.

Prayers for the Nancy and the Reagan children.

As trite as this sounds, I am truly grateful that it is President Bush, who as President, will be speaking to America regarding the passing of this good, good leader, this man of high character and optimism, of faith in America and pride in her, too. Love him, forever.

Yes, that is a small comfort that we can take from this -- that he survived the Clintigula Presidency and that a good, decent man is at the helm now.

now I'm sobbing again

I haven't stopped since I heard, and I just hope I can make it through the song. Unlike others, we hadn't even heard he had taken a turn for the worse (hardly watch TV or listen to radio this time of year). And, although I lost my father-in-law to this horrid disease, I somehow can't make myself smile because Reagan's in such a better place. But, my emotion and sobbing feels like it has more of a patriotic root than if I'd just heard a wonderful musician or someone like that had died. President Reagan was an AMERICAN INSTITUTION.

I had to turn off ABC, a female newsreader commented that Nancy's fight for increased Alzheimer's funding puts her at odds with the Republican Congress, who is fighting stem cell research.

SHAME! Politicizing the news at such a sad time. People object to stem cell research because of the controversy of using live cells from aborted babies, because they fear that babies will be aborted to sell for research.

I reported the vulgarian, but someone else beat me to it. In effect he showed a picture of himself.

If I had a flag, it would be at half-mast now .....

You're post is a great tribute, as what matters most is in the heart.

This is the flag and mast we made and put up on 9/11/01.

Our small tribute/memorial to President Reagan today.

Hard to reflect on the irony that Ronald Reagan died on the day when the world is focused on D Day commemorations, on the fight for freedom. That battle was the cornerstone of Reagan's administration

"It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country, in defense of us, in wars afar away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray-haired. But most of them were boys when they died, and they gave up two lives, the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for our country, for us. And all we can do is remember." --Ronald Reagan

I loved President Reagan, and I never had the honor of meeting him. I liked President Bush 41, but I didn't love him. I love President George W. Bush, and I hope that President Reagan will now be watching over him, guiding and inspiring him.

I echo that word for word. And I feel that our country lost a tremendous hero today, but if there were anyone who could and would watch over America from heaven it would be President Reagan. He deeply loved our country.

Good. I've heard that there is one in every crowd. "Creep" is pretty tame for what I think of such a person who would show his "face" thusly.
