In fact, the first time I voted, it was for Reagan and we had my mom's funeral earlier that day.
I'm sitting here at the computer crying my eyes out. Then - on Fox - Gregg Jarret just read the quote from Michael Reagan - it's tearing me up - I cannot imagine what he and the family is going through.
And can't you just imagine our Father in Heaven, just moments ago, saying "Here he comes! " :-) ?, I can!
God Bless you Mr. President. Rest in beloved peace sir...you have certainly earned it.
I hope the entire country and press react in a way that bring them comfort and doesn't add to their grief.
Don't know what to say. My heart is so heavy.
What an incredibly moving and inspirational statement from Michael Reagan. It centered on the President's faith and how his faith led Michael to know the Lord. I expect much ridicule and gnashing of teeth ny the haters, but good will triumph!
Thanks for that picture. Such a lovely man, such a loss! God bless Nancy and his children...
Red
That's an excellent choice.
The two heroes I've had in my life are my dearly departed father and Ronald Reagan.
He fought hard politically but always seemed to be a gentleman. If he attacked the other party, it was with class and not vitriol. He gave us hope and inspired patriotism. His vision was clear and purpose deliberate. Thank you, President Reagan for your efforts in ending one of the great evils of the 20th Century.
God blessed us with this man; I believe that, with his inspiration, he saved America from a despairing death...
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of; wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there
I've chased the shouting winds along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air;
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
Where never lark nor even eagle flew;
And while, with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
Me too - that tore me up.
So many wonderful memories!
WASHINGTON LINCOLN REAGAN
