NEWS CREW IN IRAQ TIPPED OFF TO LOCATION OF ROADSIDE BOMB DID NOT RELAY INFORMATION TO COALITION CONVOY

MOSUL, Iraq - Coalition soldiers questioned two news media cameramen and a reporter after a roadside bomb exploded near a Coalition convoy two kilometers north of Mosul June 3.

The media, who were at the scene prior to the attack, told soldiers at the scene they had received a tip to be at that location prior to the attack and they had witnessed the explosion.

There was minimal damage to a Coalition vehicle, a cracked windshield, and no serious injuries.

3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division soldiers requested the media accompany them to a base camp in Mosul to answer questions as witnesses to the incident. The news media representatives left the base camp in the mid afternoon.

The media has been helping Michael Moore with footage and contacts in Iraq for quite a while.

The "side job" bucks are too much to resist and besides the public has a right to see everything, especially American leftists and radicals in Islamic countries.

Remember, both Reuters and CNN refused to use the word "terrorists" even in Afghanistan and now all the US TV and print media calls foreign and local A-Q terrorists in Iraq "insurgents" and "militants" and Michael Moore calls the "Minute Men" and "patriots".

CNN collaborated with Saddam Hussein for 10 years to keep their exclusive hold on Iraq coverage and after those journalists were killed in Afghanistan by Taliban and A-Q the press decided to become profitable protected partners of America's and the Coalition's terrorist enemies.

The democrat party and Kerry & Ko. are the shrill voices the media uses to complete the deadly trifecta.

I type this and go back to checking out my Colts.....

The question as to whether or not to warn the hypothetical American patrol was initially put to Peter Jennings. At first he said "yes" he would try to warn the Americans "even at the risk of his own life". But old Mike Wallace gave him a dressing-down in front of the panel by reminding Peter that "he was a journalist first, and an American second".

A few weeks ago a similar hypothetical was posed to Cal Thomas on Fox News Watch. It was about coming upon an accident. Cal said, 'well he'd probably check to see if any needed help and then start reporting/filming because a journalists job is to report the news, not render aid."

I hope I never come upon Cal in a car wreck. 'Sorry, Cal, I'd like to help you there, bud, but instead, I'm going to write this up so when the news crews get here. How bad does it hurt? Is this your camera? I'll film ya. Wow, that's allot of blood. Can you turn abit this way so I can get a better pic. Awwww gggeezz, Cal, quit your whinin' and beggin' for help. Journalism, first! Remember. Last time I stopped at an accident in this are, Cal, it only took the EMT's about 45 minutes to get here. These rural town EMT's aren't quite as fast as in the city. Cal Cal!!! you still breathin'? Hey, wake up."

The solution here is simple. The news crew set up knowing an attack would happen. They not only acted with reckless disregard for the lives of our soldiers but also allied themselves with the terrorists. They should be more than questioned. They should be declared illegal enemy combatants, tried, found guilty, and publicly executed by firing squad.

Who is to say that it was not the news crew who actually set the device there?

No, the "real" news crews actually only set up controlled bombs in pickup truck gas tanks for their Sunday night specials.

Roadside bombs are beneath their dignity.

So, is anybody surprised? The members of the media suck, plain and simple.

They have no ethics, no honesty, no honor and no allegiance to anything but their sorry careers.

They should be executed as accomplices to an attempted murder.

I want to see not only the individuals prosecuted, but also the organization they represent. Sexual harrassment laws clearly establish a precedent that organizations can be held responsible for individual employee behavior.

I think the entire company should be seized, and the stock in the company given to the next of kin of every slain soldier in this conflict. They can disband the organization or run it as they, the new owners, see fit. You can bet every news organization would have a policy about providing vital information the next day.

At this point, I think an appropriate response is mob violence. Burn down every building this company owns or operates. And no, don't tell them ahead of time and let them escape.

This just totally flames me.

Newspeople prize their reputation for "independence" in the middle of this conflict, even as the country of which they are citizens is at war.

It would be better for newspeople to have a reputation for alignment with the coalition, and for the other side to believe that anything said to them, will be passed along to the coalition.
