FEINSTEIN INTRODUCES "ASSAULT WEAPONS" REAUTHORIZATION BILL
NRA-ILA
June 4, 2004

Yesterday, vehemently anti-gun Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.)introduced S. 2498, legislation that would reauthorize the Clinton gun ban. The bill is being held on the Senate floor and could come up at any time.

This is the start of a sustained political battle we`ll be waging over the next few months. Our opponents will continue to work at every turn to try and accomplish their anti-gun goals, and we need to be prepared. Please visit NRA-ILA`s informative website-- www.ClintonGunBan.com --and learn the facts about this debate, which has too long been driven and dominated by falsehoods and emotion. And please forward this website to others who need to know both the history and the truth about this issue. Then, please contact your Senators and urge them to oppose S. 2498 or any other legislation seeking to extend the so-called "assault weapons" ban.

You can find contact information for your elected officials by using the "Write Your Representatives" tool at http:/www.NRAILA.org, or you can call your U.S. Senators at (202) 224-3121.

Funny thing, he wasn't killed with an "assault weapon".

I thought the killer used a TEC-9, which is included in the bogus "assault weapon" classification. Besides being banned by name, it has several strikes against it, maybe three; a barrel shroud and a magazine well outside of the pistol grip, IIRC it originally had a threaded barrel and could accept a silencer, also it might be considered a semiautomatic version of a full auto firearm. It only take two EVIL features for a semi-auto pistol to be banned.

She's probably thinking that us "redneck gun-fondlers" are out drinking beer and ignoring it.

That may be what she thinks, but I think this "red neck gun fondler" will make a trip to the range tomorrow, and I advise every one to do the same. Call it the Dianne Fienstein Memorial Internet shoot. After I go by the gun show of course. :)

Buy more ammo, .45 ACP because I go through a lot of that, then go sight in the .308 maybe. It's an ugly gun, just doesn't have a bayonet lug and has a muzzle brake instead of a flash hider. It's also what she might call a "sniper rifle", since it mounts a scope. Might be useful as an anti-jihadi weapon, should such be needed hereabouts.

See my reply at 21.

Well he thought OK to make it a high profile issue on his official Senate web page. Yea, that not quite the same as making it a campaign issue. I never said he would make it an issue, he and his handlers (well his handlers anyway) are smarter than that, but he would push for it, or for it's reimposition, should the worst happen in November.

We know what we think of them. We know what they think of us.

The question is "what are they going to do about it?"

I suspect we will have our answer within the next ten years, and somebody ain't a goin' to be happy.

With the current public school training and general apathy it will probably be us.

Maybe. I still believe in us though, and have not given up hope yet. This is still the good ole U.S of A.

Remember how outraged the entire country was immediately after 9/11? The Spirit of America that I grew up with is still here, (just not as much of it) and still the most potent force on the face of the planet.

Forget that! It will be my personal Ronald Wilson Reagan Memorial Shoot. I hadn't heard of his passing when I posted that. Maybe later a bunch of us can get together and make it a "real" shoot.

As sad as the passing of Ronald Reagan is, we must also remember that he was a staunch pro-2nd advocate his whole life.

Fienstein is probably hoping that the attention and respect we pay to his passing will distract us from this legislation in these crucial first days.

Thus, call this a RONALD REAGAN SECOND AMENDMENT MEMORIAL BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe, I checked the other forums we posted it to...it's getting a LOT of attention and some folks are weighing in with some extra knowledge re: the parliamentary procedures involved.

The word's getting out! We need to keep the pressure on, especially now that, understandably, everyone's distracted by Ronald Reagan's passing.

"George Soros has stated he will spend $100 million or more of his own money to defeat President Bush. Millions of dollars are now flowing to MoveOn.org and International ANSWER (a full-fledged communist front group) for the overt purpose of creating an anti-Bush media campaign, outside of current campaign contribution limits. Those millions would also pay for a wide range of black operations, beyond simply a media campaign."

Judging from the Demwit's rhetoric, the only conclusion is: They are hoping for another terrorist incident, so they can blame George Bush for it.

It is even possible, that some, of the more rabid Bush-haters, would finance some sort of black operation, to ensure that a terrorist incident would occur. It is parallel to the Reichstagg fire in Berlin, immediately before the Nazi's seized power in Germany. BTW: Who did set that fire?

Yes, LC, I noticed the same thing. A fellow going by the name of "Publicola" posted some very good insight on the thread I started on TheHighRoad.org.

We must defeat this. We can. We will!
