GRANBY, Colo. (News 4) A person with a gun has reportedly driven a bulldozer with armor welded to it into several buildings in the town of Granby and heavily damaged the Town Hall, News 4 reports.

The suspect fired shots, and it is unknown what his motive was. Witnesses said police were firing shots at the bulldozer, but were not able to penetrate the armor.

Several buildings were heavily damaged in the main section of town, according to witnesses. Witness Teri Hertel told News 4 by phone that the driver plowed through several trees and signs on the street.

The caterpillar tractor had armor welded to it, according to News 4 photojournalist Rob McClure on scene.

Many police were responding to the situation, including the Jefferson County SWAT team. Emergency crews also called for evacuations, according to witnesses.

The idiot took himself out essentially. Tried to cross a K-rail at an angle. Should have known it would have bottomed out the tank.

It's already stopped. The cops are trying to get at him.
Seems he was angry about property taxes or something.

It's just like "Killdozer," the ABC movie from 1974. I think one of the actors was a young Robert Urich too.

Yep. It's a bit reminiscent of the "Mars Probe" episodes of The Six Million Dollar Man, too.

Wasn't the guy in the tank in San Diego trying to take down a bridge? When he got stuck, a couple of police officers got on the tank, opened the hatch & that's all she wrote.

Weaver broke the law, refused to cooperate with authorities, refused to show up in court, and then created an armed standoff as a result. Wasted my tax dollars. Sorry, but I have little sympathy for corruption or crooks, regardless of whatever ideology they claim. Innocent victims my ass.

These fringe wackos on the environment and animal rights are scary to me.

In Europe there is a growing backlash against globalization. IT seems that they are being manipulated.

The reason I mention this is the antisemitic tinge of some of this has and the masses in revolt aspect of it.

I wasnt aware that we kill innocent women and children because dad doesn't show up for a moving court date. Also we generally don't pay millions to the guilty.

CNN Headline channel just mentioned this, without much detail--then went on to OJ and sports headlines.

AP ammo can at most go through 3/8-1/2 and inch of steel. You need a big boy gun to knock holes in it.

The tracks are a weak point. The fuel tank also.

You could probably stop it with a firehose if you can reach the air intake.

No, why not send him to Israel where he can do something useful like knock down a few terrorists houses.

I mean the guy can even bring his own armoured bulldozer. Would be a shame to waste it!

The guy in San Diego was trying to cross over the median to the northbound lanes of I-805...into oncoming traffic. He got stuck on the concrete median. It could have been quite ugly.
