OPEN LETTER TO AMERICAN FEMINISTS
my angry self | 04 June 2004 | me

Posted on 06/04/2004 12:43:30 PM PDT by cyborg

Dear American Feminists,

I am a thirty year old woman living in the United States and have been studying what is known as 'the women's movement'. I've read some of your books especially those written by Gloria Steinem and other famous women's rights advocates. Reading these books I hoped to gain some insight into the movement that my fellow conservatives railed against. I sought to find out why Rush Limbaugh takes such obvious delight in calling all of you feminazis.

I disagreed with the goals of the feminists such as abortion rights, putting career ahead of family and so on. I thought it would be easy for me to go on with my life and allow you to go promoting feminist causes. After all, this is America and I don't spend my time telling other people how to behave and what to think. However, I did not realize the impact that the feminist movement had in the lives of men and women in this country till I started dating (if it can be called such).

I hope you are happy with yourselves. You've made it possible for more girls to enter spinsterhood than ever before all the while going psychotic and starving ourselves to death into an early grave besides. The biblical verse (I know you hate christianity but please excuse me) that states 'what does it profit a man if he gains the world and loses his soul' comes to mind. What does it matter if I'm rich with a great career, my own car, a healthy 'sex life' and nice clothes if I'm alone when I'm eighty rocking myself to sleep in a dirty nursing home all alone with no grandchildren? Perhaps you don't care that many men cringe at the idea of getting married because you don't care for the institution of getting married yourselves. Perhaps not having children doesn't bother you because you're too busy advocating the murder of children in the womb.

You talk about us women embracing our 'real bodies' and 'our fat womyn' BUT what do you feminists fill your magazines with? It's not 'real womyn' that is for sure. You peddle independent womanhood in the form of acting like a slut, dressing like a slut and having women portrayed as black widows. You champion little girls wearing g-strings and playing rainbow braclet gamwes while condemning girls who save themselves for marriage, or girls who are celibate and dress modestly as 'old fashioned' and 'out of touch'.

My thirtieth birthday came and went, and so far I've learned that many men don't respect women. A married man will go over land sea and tell all kinds of lies to get sex from a girl. I've also learned that trying to attract the attentions of man already burned once by a 'independent woman' is a fruitless effort and these men don't go through half the trouble single men or married men do to use a girl sexually. They do no think we women are worth it. I wonder how many girls will learn about your lies the hard way? How many girls will have a mother like mine to listen to the whining and frustration then only to say, 'see? You need to church and get right with God.' not mothers who are interested in being their best buddies and further encourage promiscuity.

Many young men don't even want to get married but instead wait for those women willing to have casual sex with them. You taught these girls that having unattached sex is the mark of a proud, independent woman like Sex in the City for instance. You trash Jessica Simpson for being a brainless idiot but we BOTH know why you really trash her and don't trash Britney Spears. Frustrated fathers raise sons and tell them never to get married. What are girls like me supposed to do? Or is my choice to want to be a wife and mother not as vaunted as having abortions or group sex on MTV? Bring up marriage and children to a single man these days, and a girl will find herself all alone on a Saturday night. So what's a girl to do? Don't bother answering feminists. American culture has had enough of your answers. Your well intentioned moral boondoggles have hurt women more than you will ever realize. Let's hope you don't spread your false gospel elsewhere.

Thank you for your time.

Well done. Nice rant.

30-something dating pretty much is a pain in the rear, isn't it? It seems most women I run into fall into a few categories:

- The kind who have followed the feminism movement since college.

- The kind who have married and been through divorce, falling into the movement because of anger and pain. (This is the man-hating crowd)

- Complete loons.

From my perspective, a great woman is a rare find these days. I know I could be doing more to find 'Ms. Right' but at the same time I wonder if I really want to sort through all the nonsense to find her.

Oh, there are so many reasons to rag on him; it would take a book the size of The Oxford English Dictionary to delineate each and every one.

Though, I'll do you one better.

I not only met "Jimmy" from Brooklyn, but I had a three hour conversation with him, had my picture taken with him, Wei Jenshiang and a group of democracy activists-it never got back to me, but that's another story entirely-and was almost enlisted in his crusade against the entrenched Communist infrastructure of New York City.

Now beat that Missy!

Yes the 30 crowd is in a dating mess... a lot of the problems you state can be directly traced to the feminist movement. Everyone does have to take some personal responsibility for themselves, but we all have to live with these liberals too.

I have had some fun conversations with women who seem to all have a large list of desirable traits for their preferred man. (Big wallet always there in some form)... lol

I follow up by asking what is the long list of attributes about these women that made them worthy of such a man?
Most replies began with a long silence (they never even thought before about that) LOL.

Most knew what they wanted, almost none even considered what they would provide from their side. I found that most interesting.

I also noticed that a woman who is an unmarried 25-27 starts to go into a major hunt mode for a mate since many of her friends are having families.
I know of one that tried to trap a famous athlete into a marriage. She was lying about using protection and purposely got pregnant.
He never married her, did have to pay support and he never saw the child. She never married.

There are lots of screwed up people here in California, you don't have them only in New York.

Feminism has helped ruin the normal family dynamics and it is reflected in the high divorce rate IMO!

Plus men don't need to marry if they are only out for sex these days.
California (as an example) has tons of young females that dress, look and act like that poll dancer Britney Spears.
You can walk into most stores these days and find your little available tattooed tart with the 8 inch micro mini skirt, 5 inch stiletto heels and a bra-less tank-top embroidered with the words "I Want To Be Screwed Now".

Many men here in California go for the Mexican women who come over because they are traditional and want to be women in a family and harbor no wild perceptions of life.

You can find what ever you want, just might take longer depending on what you are looking for.

The different thought processes between men and women are even reflected in our movie choices.
Men like the loud flashy stuff that can be low on content.
Women mostly like movies about a woman being betrayed!
What's up with that? LOL

Nice Freeper Male, looking for Nice Freeper woman sort of thing :)

Mind you as I am in the UK I might be a little "out of the loop" so to speak. :(

Everyone does have to take some personal responsibility for themselves, but we all have to live with these liberals too.

That statement pretty much sums up the reason for a lot of our nation's problems. Liberals always place blame on others, or on imagined social issues.

Here are a couple of random thoughts from someone who married at 35 and has now been married for almost nine years. Wonderful husband, very happy marriage, and two fantastic kids.

1. A happy marriage requires two things: finding the right person and BEING the right person. I found a great Christian counselor who helped me work through a handful of minor issues. This helped a great deal with identifying emotionally healthy men. I read somewhere that you will attract people who are as emotionally healthy as you are. I highly recommend counseling IF you can find a wise, balanced and Christian counselor.

2. I met dh in an AOL chatroom, of all places. ("Christian Singles") With a few common sense precautions, I think the internet is a great way to meet potential mates.

There really are normal, well-grounded single men out there. Oh, and my dh is seven years younger than I am. Maybe you should check out the graduating class of 2004 -- university grads, that is!

Hey pal! I've got news for you. New York City has the market cornered on nut-jobs!

Seven percent of our population-seven f**** percent(!)- is mentally unstable! And I'm lowballing this figure, believe me.

We actually have to pass statewide legislation to periodically rein in the loons that are roaming our streets.

Sorry about the ferocity there, it's just that this is a sore point for me.

I mean, other states might have more trees, more suitable living environments, but none, and I mean none, of those other states have as many people whacked out of their freakin' gourds as New York does.

Yep I had a list, a very long list *LOL* It's now the size of a memo pad. My mom is not from this country which is why I found the comment about Mexican ladies interesting. She's a Catholic and my father was a Catholic also and didn't let me date till I was 18. I have my mom's mentality about women's roles, etc. My mother taught me to cook and clean for a man, how to cut a man's toe nails so if anything my husband would be well taken care of.

I blame the leftist/immoral males as much as the feminazis.

And then there are the creeps on the "conservative" side who attempt to use the existence of feminazism as a reason to justify their wanting to take the vote away from women or draft women into wars.

Yup. Seeing as how we have to live with the results of liberal meddling and 'fix it if it ain't broke' mentality, that gives us the right to address these libs.

Toenails? I cut all my kids' toenails (also the cat's), but my husband gets, "Wow, look at those toenails - you'll be needing a concealed-weapons permit! The clippers are in the bathroom drawer!"

Your mother was being abusive if she had you being trained to cut a man's toe nails.

Also, unless you like to re-enact a splash down at Lourdes, you should also train your eventual guy to keep the toilet seat down at night.

You are right on target about the women here in CA (not sure what part you live in, I'm in the loony Bay Area).

My mom is Mexican, but I find most of the Mexican women here In NoCal rather unattractive. They are from a different region in Mexico I think. When I go to visit our family in New Mexico my head is usually on a swivel as there are so many attractive women (to me anyway). Many are married or divorced or single moms, which is usually a bummer.

Oh man, there's a joke about Catholic girls in there somewhere. I'm just loathe to make it, lest someone start callin' out my momma' or sis.

There's definitely a base to work from there, though I don't know who you're expecting to meet on Long Island. I mean, it doesn't seem like the type of place where you'd make any long-term connections, though I could be mistaken.

And, if you don't like Manhattanites-and I don't blame you-I really don't know what other options are left.

Perhaps a move across the Hudson? Hmmm...
