Controversial director Michael Moore says big names like Meryl Streep and Martin Scorsese supported his outburst at the 2003 Academy Awards. The Fahrenheit 9/11 film-maker took to the stage at the glitzy ceremony to accept the award for his acclaimed movie Bowling For Columbine, and proceeded to call shame on President George W. Bush's war on Iraq. But, while the media insisted many were infuriated by Moore's speech, the documentary maestro insists he was sent letters of support by many Hollywood 'A' listers - including Jeff Bridges and Jonathan Demme. Moore says, "Some complained about it on TV - James Woods and others, just horrible, disgusting people. I was glad they didn't like it. I got incredible notes, phone calls, e-mails and letters from Jonathan Demme, Jeff Bridges, Martin Scorsese, Meryl Streep - I could go down a whole list, but I don't know if I should out them. Then, when everyone was saying that any person who criticized America at a time of war would be shunned and boycotted and ignored and vilified, the sales of my books and movies went through the roof."
Hollyweird would.
I wouldn't brag about it, if I were him.
MST3K ROTFLMAO!!!
Hollowwood pimps for you and will use/abuse anyone who supports their agenda. Doesn't it make you feel cheap, Mike? No? Oh, that's right, you'd have to have a conscience.
What is so great about a craphead being supported by other craheads? This is like Jesse Jackson saying he is supported by welfare mothers, or John Kerry saying he is supported by Jane Fonda. Bin Laden is supported by Al Quaeda.
I should go write James Woods a fan letter.
And the foreign leaders michael what about them??
Hollywood is such a small part of America, so who gives a hoot whether it supports Moore? They deserve each other.
He fabricates quotes, he dishonestly edits intervies, he' a proven liar and hypocrite.
AND HE'S ONE UGLY MOTHERFUCKE*
I'm also going to send Moore a big box of chocolates. Everyone else do the same, and maybe we can shave several years off of his life.
What a crock!! He already outed the biggest names, who are probably scrambling for cover right now.
James Woods is a fantastic man and just about the least "Hollywood" of anyone out there. He has a very interesting story about a flight he took from Boston to L.A. shortly before 9/11. A couple of TROP types in first class scared the bejesus out of him because they were scrutinizing, measuring, making notes. Of course, MM would call him horrible and disgusting. Of course.
You might want to ask Vanna if you can buy a few more asterisks for that last word (or, better still, chose a different word altogther.)
Penn of Penn & Teller is no fan either, judging from a comment he made on "While You Were Out" (a Trading Spaces type show on TLC)
