"Thing is, you better get your state on board, 'cause it seems the BOR doesn't apply."

My state is most certainly on board. Open carry in public is fully legal. Concealed carry is no permit for private property and "shall issue" for in public. No weapons banned by the state, either.

Really? I'm rather fond of the federal law that bans incarcerated felons from possessing firearms.
You'd arm them?

I'm with budwiesest on this also. The same rule should apply to somebody who has committed a felony as it does to any other individual.

If a law, with the threat of punishment, incarceration or fines can stop the individual from possessing a firearm if they wish to have one, then former felon or not, they should be able have one.

Why not? If they are the type to ignore the law, in spite of the deterrent of punishment, incarceration or fines then the will anyway.

Those who have paid the court imposed debt to society after committing a crime should have the same rights as any other person.

You haven't paid your debt while you are INCARCERATED.

Hmm, something not clear here? I will try again.

Those (Individuals convicted of a felony) who have paid the court imposed debt to society (After, past tense, as in NO LONGER incarcerated) should have the same rights (identical, alike, own a firearm) as any other person (Non-former felon individuals).

Better?

I'm waiting patiently for the day when the "Bush can do no wrong" crowd get to explain to us about why the President signing and extension to the AW ban is a "good thing". it shouldn't be too long now.

There can be no rational explanation given for those who would engage in the worship of political caricatures to the detriment of America. Since the only possible explanation for such behavior is indeed irrational, we must seek every opportunity to expose their opinions now as the product of emotional misfits or deceitful profiteers.

Last month our private gun club was shut-down by the selectmen. A guy in town complained that "bullets had gone wizzing by him" while he was in his yard. No evidence, no witnesses. The police investigation was negative. The club has been shooting for 80 years. The guy lives a mile away, uphill, after a mile of trees. The selectmen simply closed the club, shutting-out 300 paying members who own the club and the land. We now have to hire a lawyer to exercise our rights.

IT NOW TAKES JUST ONE LYING LIBERAL TO SHUT-DOWN AN ENTIRE RANGE. IT TAKES JUST ONE LYING LIBERAL SENATOR TO SHUT DOWN EVERYONES' RANGE.

Before the 308 rule is applied, do everything you can to persuade folks otherwise.
