Wasn't Tenet the one exclaiming "it's a slam dunk" to Bush on the WMD intelligence?

Why didn't he just resign like a man instead of the wimp that he is? What a big crybaby. Wah, wah.....

Now that you mention it...

Turns out Tenet is resigning after being shown photos of himself, Scott Peterson and Kobe Bryant abusing prisoners at Abu Ghraib!

His resignation was the price for nondisclosure of the damning evidence.

Oh, and to bury proof he is a Nazi. (Obligatory nod to Godwin's Law.)

Who's blackmailing him? Why THEM of course!

**just worn out, burned out.**

if this is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, he should have been responsible enough to have left when he first began the burn-out. And I would add to those who are doubting there will be a book - remember Clarke's words in his resignation praising Pres Bush? I am finding that anyone tainted by Clinton is going to write a dam book!!!!

Funny how all the news outlets are announcing this resignation as if it were out of guilt for "faulty intelligence" about Iraq. As far as I'm concerned, they're faulting him for not building the intelligence establishment into a kingdom after Klinton utterly gutted their budget and had them working on anything but national security issues.

Except for Fox (Ooh, the libs can say it's Fox that's biased).

They started out the day with cocked eyebrows, but it was actually Chris Wallace who early on said the best he could make out was it was exactly as it was being represented. That Tenet wanted to step down for personal reasons.

Also, Tenet wrote a terrific resignation letter. He clearly respects President Bush very much. Other than mentioning in the letter how he was proud to have served under "two" presidents, all of his praise is for the sitting president and how he has led and taken care of the agents.

Text of Tenet's Letter of Resignation

Dear Mr. President:

I am honored to have served for nearly nine years as Deputy Director or Director of Central Intelligence for two presidents. After thoughtful deliberation with my family over the past several months, I have reached the difficult decision that I should step down as Director of Central Intelligence and retire from government service effective 11 July 2004.

I am proud of what we have accomplished in revitalizing the Central Intelligence Agency and restoring critical capabilities to our intelligence community. Your leadership and steadfast support have allowed us to accelerate the modernization of the entire intelligence community, thereby enhancing our operational, analytic and collection agility around the world. I am especially proud of our focus on rebuilding human intelligence. As a result, American intelligence today rests on a solid foundation. The men and women of the intelligence community continue to perform with great skill, dedication and passion, often at great personal risk. They represent the most important advantage we have in protecting America's families and interests. As I leave my position, I know that most of all, I will miss the men and women with whom I have had the privilege to serve.

My tenure as Director of Central Intelligence has been the most challenging and rewarding experience I could ever hope to have had. I will forever be grateful for the honor and opportunity you have given me to work closely with you on behalf of our nation.

Finally, I want to thank you for the great care you have shown for the men and women of American intelligence. Your leadership has made an enormous difference to us all.

Stephanie, John Michael and I thank you for the support and kindness you and Mrs. Bush have extended to our family.

With deep respect,

George J. Tenet

"if this is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, he should have been responsible enough to have left when he first began the burn-out"

Well, how do you know he didn't resign when the burn out started ?

My theory is Tenet did for it the Clintons. They planned it all along from the day that he was held over.
Or they may have his FBI file or he may no about Arknside.
What ever the reason the Clintons are behind it.
It's a conspiracy I tell ya.
