Breaking News on Fox
The media would love that, could make good spinning out of that.
.
Good Job, h1...
.
Perhaps Tenet leaked the Ms. Wilson cover.
That'll teach me to sleep in...
I know-I know.
Doesn't make sense in the hyper-polarized political atmosphere of our times, does it.
Only reason I can -- possibly -- think of that the Clintonista moles were retained probably are similar to why the Allies left certain NAZIS in place following WWII.
The administration must've thought they'd make the trains run on time. <\sarc>
Bush & Co had to have their reason(s) for leaving those leakers in place.
He had to.
They sure couldn't justifiably standing around scratching their heads and wondering where all the leaks of [sensitive] internal info -- to the Liberal-Socialist quisling-mediots, no less -- were coming from.
Not as long as the Clintigula holdovers were [still] around.
Not in my book they couldn't.
Shame on them, the "compassionate conservatism" they've tried to embrace?
...might just wind-up doing 'em in.
W's effort to demonstrate a "new tone", be "bipartisan" -- for which he has suffered incalculable harm from Clinton holdovers.
We do this to placate the press. They insist that the GOP, when we win, be very careful not to act like we won ("govern in a bipartisan manner".) The Democrats, however, can govern like Democrats.
Seriously, I think if Bush loses in 2004 his weakness of will in cleaning out Clintonites will be THE story yet to be written, and will illumine much when written.
Here's what I think:
1. He's going to have to be somebody who's already got Intel experience, and can hit the ground running.
2. He's got to understand the difference between war and peace.
3. He needs to be able to coordinate with Homeland Security, military intelligence, and the FBI.
My guess is that Bush will tap a military guy for the job -- such as Ralph Eberhardt (commander of Northern Command).
If Tenet does come out with a book, I'm thinking it'll be more anti-Clinton than anyone else. Clinton treated him with disdain.
LOL>.........I'm sure some of the people on this forum think that the president has finally "heard" them and removed Tenet.
What does that mean? Should we slit our wrists? Vote for a Kerry/UN/Soros ticket? Moan, groan, whine, worry, cry?
Negative toward the Pres? No kidding!
What has changed? The "press" has been negative towards Republicans for 40 years.
If there is not a real negative, they invent and imply one.
Ignore them, and fight back.
Did you forget that those *enemies* are americans? Just because they disagree with you they are enemies?
When did America become a fascist state?
I agree.
You're on.
I use to defend Powell on this board, but for years, all we've read is his whining.
He needs to get the hell out now.
When have the democrats ever put America first?
I'm glad to see him gone, just don't know why President Bush kept him in the first place. I agree with the others that it will be spun as proof of President Bush's failures in Iraq, WOT, etc.
Brit on Fox now.
"We may never know" why Tenet decided to exit at this point.
Clearly warmly regarded by Clinton.
Brit says he knows Tenet a bit and he is very warm and gracious
He notes President Bush's remarks and how he praised Tenet. But Brit lists some of the problems. He's harking back to the Chinese embassy bombing during Kosovo.
Brit's not sure about how Chalabi figures. He's leaning toward the 9/11 commission's report coming out.
BTW, anyone who watched Tenet testify would see he does not harbor any love for the Clinton administration or was at odds with Bush.<---this last para comprises my own thoughts, not Brit's.
If I ever need a personal spinmeister I know where to find you.
Thanks, MeekOneGOP.
William Casey remains the best of the CIA directors in my book.
