A new line of storms has formed out of nowhere, running along just west of I-35E from Irving to Denton and moving northeast.

Yep, looks like S4 is headed for my porch in about 90 minutes or so.

Pretty weird how many directions individual storms have moved tonight, and where they are forming and reforming.

Had enough clouds for a dramatic sunset at Lake Travis and Cedar Park

Pretty weird...

Lots and lots of energy out there tonight. Very warm day, much power. Storm cells popping up out of nowhere. The vectors are starting to settle out, so hopefully no more cyclonic possibilities.

And I hear that the same show will be performing tomorrow evening, and maybe Friday night, too.

I think this is a good week for Blockbuster and popcorn in DFW. Kite flying and lake kayaking look to be right out.

Hey come live here in El Paso, we may get a lot of hot weather but we don't have tornado watches. When I lived in Kansas it was like someone told me the bombers were on the way. Never knew where they would strike! Had to jump out of our car and head for a ditch on the way to Topeka once!

Why that just ain't right!

I'm originally from Phoenix. No quakes, mudslides, avalanches, hurricanes or twisters. Just dumb, clueless politicians.

I'll take my chances with the twisters They're more random than the pols.

Fortunately Tornado's are very localized.

Depends on your idea of "very localized". A tornada a bit over a week ago that leveled the small town of Hallam Nebrask(~25 from my mother's house in Lincoln) was about 2 miles wide as it went through the town, which probably wasn't more than 1/2 mile wide in any direction. It was on the ground, alhtough not that wide the whole distance, for over 50 miles. It lifted just before it would have hit the town, Palmyra, where one of my cousins lives. It went clear across Lancaster county, and touched parts of 3 other counties. One, Gage, just barely got nicked. At it's strongest, as it went over Hallam, it was classifed as an F4 tornado.

All fine here in central Arlngton. We prepped the bolt-hole when the sirens went off, but didn’t have to use it. The twister came down somewhere around U.S. 287 at IH-20 in southwest Arlington but missed us here in the old part of town. We lost power intermittently, but other than some minor street flooding and assorted elm branches all over the yard, it looks like Maison B-Chan has dodged another bullet. Thanks be to God!

Don't forget the infamous Tri-State Tornado in 1925.
