Local elementary school students will be visited by a big bird this fall, but not the oversized canary of "Sesame Street" fame.

Eddie Eagle, The National Rifle Association's feathered gun-safety expert, will be making the rounds of pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade classrooms, thanks to a $4,500 grant from the NRA Foundation.

"This is one of the better things I've found that they do, that's not been publicized.
Huh, I read the news and headlines almost every day; I was under the impression the NRA was only interested in killing our babies.

Really, I'm glad these folks are doing the right thing with kids who may never be taught what to do in certain situations where a firearm and much ignorance is present.
