A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos) 5.31.2004

The President and First Lady went to Arlington Cemetery where the President laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

He spoke briefly on the character of America's Military, past, present and future, active-duty, deceased, retired, or reserves, and their committment to the Country.

Sec. of Defense Rumsfeld received a standing ovation that clearly touched him (no pictures I could find that showed this) and also gave a short speech on the dedication of America's Military.

This Californian [bred, born and raised] puts the state's problems squarely at the foot of the liberal politician...

That having been said...Arnold is not the messiah...

Our state is diseased...there is a cancer here that is indicative of a wider problem...

California is diseased...I know...

My brother was in New York recently and covered up Lying Liars with Sean Hannity's Deliver Us From Evil.

He also bought a copy and is going to send it to me after he finishes reading it.

As a Texan he really loves stirring up the liberals.

I have always mused why the daily life of this president was apparently greeted with such enthusiasm on a conservative forum. I rationalized that many who have joined the forum since the 2000 election have mistakenly identified FreeRepublic as a Republican forum.

I guess you haven't read the founder of this forum's strong statements regarding this President (and the importance of reelecting him) then, have you?

I think he knows what kind of forum Free Republic is..............since it's HIS forum.

My husband and I went to the 2001 Inauguration. We felt we needed to go, to be "bodies for Bush," as we put it when we showed up for events faithfully in 2000.

I hope we win by a decisive margin this time so it isn't spoiled like the last one was by all the rancor. The media is trying hard to make it another cliffhanger, however.

Media is making it very difficult for me to keep a Christian thought in my head....

We could have our house made in six weeks; we'd spend the time looking for a place to put it . . . the week before it was done we'd go to Nebraska Furniture Mart and order furniture for the whole house, to be delivered to the new location . . .what a dream!!!

A Winnebago, huh? Hasn't Mike had enough travel? :-)

Yep, we're all part of the vast right wing conspiracy...

Wish we had as much power in the media and the schools as the vast left wing conspiracy does.

We're part of the conspiracy . . . and we didn't even know it . . . (spooky music)

Don't even get me started on the media . . .

mr.h is out of the shower and grilling steaks, so I better go!

Night, all . . .

It's always been the 10% that defend the rights of the other 90%.

When I lived in Canada, I sent to Maryland (my last res in the states) for my ballot. Since I was not a Maryland resident at the time, the ballot they sent me only had the presidential race on it, not senator, representative or other races.

First they sent a ballot application, which I completed and returned, then at the scheduled time, they sent me the real ballot, and I obsessed about filling it in perfectly , so that it would not be rejected.

Not sure how much weight she has lost but she is getting toned up. About a week ago when Laura was on the Jay Leno show, she said she has started doing regular workouts. Said she also works with a trainer 2 or 3 times a week, she held her arm up in a mock display of muscle and said, I'm getting buffed, Jay.

I think this last photo in #8 was taken after the crowd gave Rummy a standing O and the President said to Rummy, (paraphrasing) See, they love you.....

LOL. Today musta have driven the left crazy.

Thanks for an extra-special Memorial Day edition of the Dose. My source for positive news I don't hear anywhere else.

There seems to be three common characteristics, which when combined, are an indicator of a Republican Party loyalists operating on this forum.

1) As I noted earlier, their forum membership date usually is around or after November 2000.
2) The excessive use of the pronoun "you" in an adhominem style which is generally designed to discredit the messenger and thereby ignore the substance of the critical comment.
3) An attempt to canonize the reply by tying it to a sacred cow thereby making an further comment unethical or blasphemous or both.

Two replies on this thread fit that profile. The two replies were posted by members who joined FreeRepublic in the specified time frame, utilized the "you" word 18 times in an adhominem style and both replies worked their sacred icons into the response.

If any member is going to spam a topic promoting a candidate they should be prepared to defend their candidate under critical scrutiny. No one benefits when critical, political comments are met with vitriolic nonsense, especially in the form of personal attacks. We all usually hold our noses at the polls but FreeRepublic is the place to debate the issues on their merits.

I repeat. Good luck to you in November.
