Kerry Heckled at Memorial Day Event

Sen. John Kerry's record as an anti-war protester came back to haunt him on Memorial Day when he was confronted by a heckler as he tried to pay his respects to a soldier killed in the Vietnam War.

"How much money are you getting to betray our POWs?" an unidentified middle-aged woman shouted as Kerry visited the Vietnam Veterans memorial on the Washington Mall.

"Are you paying tribute to all the people you spat on, Senator Kerry?" she added.

The incident came as Kerry attempted to honor William Bronson, a Massachusetts native who was killed in Vietnam.

Kerry led the fight to have Bronson's name added to those already inscribed on the black granite wall, according to Reuters. "I'm glad we could finally get the appropriate thing done," the top Democrat told his mother, Barbara, who was there for the ceremony.

The heckling episode served to underscore the resentment many veterans still feel towards Kerry from his days as a leader with the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, when he teamed up with anti-American actress Jane Fonda.

Ironically, though Kerry has made his service in Vietnam a centerpiece of his campaign and has continued to attack President Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard, veterans are shunning him, according to a poll released last week.

Though the CBS survey showed Kerry opening up an eight point lead over Bush overall, the poll's internal numbers show Kerry trailing badly among veterans, with only 41 percent supporting him while 54 percent back Bush.

Kudos to the woman who lit that creep up!

This sounds like it could be the D.C. Freeper "Angelwood." She is one of the most active and vocal of the D.C. clan.

Angelwood, was that you?

LOL. Yeah, it's ironic that Effing Kerry called his fellow soldiers war criminals and now they are shunning him. Go figure.

"Are you paying tribute to all the people you spat on, Senator Kerry?"

I would say he just spat on them again by making even the dead a political move in his campaign.

Hey, look at the facts!

For whatever reason, for 4 months he was for it, and after that period of time, he was against it!

You decide!

I think it was great that Kerry got this mans name placed on the wall, and I am sure that he and this fellows Mom just happened to show up on Memorial day for the requisite photo-op. I feel a bit sorry for the guys Mom that she had to witness the disdain many Americans feel for Hanoi John. Too bad she and Kerry couldnt have gone alone on a Tuesday evening and quietly viewed the name on the Wall had a good cry patted each other on the back and had a private moment, but Kerry isnt into private momnents he is running for Pres. ,and if Bush had done this on Memorial Day Kerry would have issued a statement on how horrible it was for Bush to take advantage of the mothers misery for a photo-op.
