Targeting Rush
The Washington Times' Inside Politics ^ | 31 May 04 | Greg Pierce

"Former right-wing operative David Brock is urging the Pentagon to get Rush Limbaugh off American Forces Radio," Terence Samuel reports in the Washington Whispers column of U.S. News & World Report.

"Brock, now president of Media Matters for America, a group formed to combat the influence of conservative media outlets, says that the government shouldn't be sponsoring what Limbaugh is peddling. The popular talk show host, whose radio program is heard at military installations worldwide, has said that what happened at Abu Ghraib was little more than what happens at a fraternity hazing. 'It is abhorrent that the American taxpayer is paying to broadcast what is in effect pro-torture propaganda to American troops,' Brock wrote to [Defense Secretary Donald H.] Rumsfeld. No Pentagon response so far."

Poor girl has his panties in a wad over Rush Limbaugh.

He should go to Massachussets, get married, and settle down already.

The sanctimonius handwringing is getting old. Mr. Brock, if you're so concerned about morality why not speak to things more serious. Meanwhile, we'll fashion a RUSH/CHENEY 2004 bumper sticker just for you.

Perhaps Ms Brock wouldn't have gotten in such a tizzy if Rush would have compared the abuse at Abu Ghraib with a David Brock cocktail party (no pun intended?) instead of with a college hazing prank.

The green line represents the Websearch traffic rankings for RushLimbaugh.com. The red line represents mediamatters.org. Who is winning?

Perhaps he could suggest that Michael Moore remain in Cannes.

The reference to hazing is totally out of context, considering the three-hour show that Rush devoted to this. Rush said that it was abhorrent and unacceptable but that it was done, so move on.

Rush also nailed the 'Rats and the media for their true motivation with this story, to hurt the President--even if it demoralizes our military and encourages our enemies. So Rush did slip in a joke about the incident resembling a Skull & Bones initiation, which at least puts it in some context and infuriates the Democrats.

Former right-wing operative David Brock

Quite a title for a guy who wrote a few unrefuted stories about Bill Clinton a long time ago! (And this was in the Washington Times?)

And have a baby, too. Although most queers are too vain for stretch marks.

I had to look at that a couple times, but if that scale is right, with 100 on top and increasing as you go toward the bottom of the chart, then it would seem mediamatters.org is winning. Can someone explain that scale cuz I know that can't be the case.

Rush really is poison for our troops...now, if only they could hear a voice of reason like Al Franken or maybe Randi Rhodes...

Hmmm why would our troops want to hear the most popular nationaly-syndicated radio personality of all time praddle on about being a proud American and supporter of the troops?

We don't want to ENCOURAGE those over-grown frat boys into killing more babies, do we????

:-p

Brock, now president of Media Matters for America, a group formed to combat the influence of conservative media outlets, says that the government shouldn't be sponsoring what Limbaugh is peddling.

Yet, it would seem he has no problem with "Public Radio" being government sponsored. Some double standard!

And that's a logarithmic scale too.

I have several friends with whom I served that went to Boat School. One Annapolis graduate told me that the hazing he took as a plebe was worse than any of the "torture" done at Abu Grahaib.

The public is already sick and tired of this story. Only the New York Fishwrap is staying with it for its inbred audience of "Deliverance"-type liberal morons.

The last I heard Rush and the EIB were free market driven.

Perhaps David meant NPR?

If it is ANSWER then it is probably still Soros, or maybe it's ketchup money.
