Many FReepers have been contacting me about various action items I have posted, saying that they were having difficulty getting the contact info for their Congressmen, Senators, etc. Thus, I have gone ahead and purchased a "SoapBox Alert" on Congress.Org to enable FReepers to use the protest tactics of this left-wing site against the left wingers -- it directly enables you to contact your representatives and Senators (and makes it very easy). I hope you make use of it.
Clicking here will take you to the Action Item. Here is a Sample Letter:
As your constituent, I demand that you move to censure Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA.
On Meet the Press this morning, May 30, 2004, Ms. Pelosi demonstrated that she has lost all semblance of self-control, bursting into tears when asked hard questions and responding with inappropriate, venomous, partisan attacks on President Bush. While it is perfectly fine to debate issues on the merits, such acerbic personal attacks, made for the sole purpose of partisan gain, are unacceptable and unbecoming the one in a Leadership Position in the House of Representative.
Ms. Pelosi, who has demonstrated time and again that she has no dignity, grace, or self control, must be censured and stripped of her leadership position. She has disgraced the House of Representatives and the United States of America. This latest outburst was the last straw for most Americans -- who have has it with this woman and cannot understand why Congress has not taken any action to discipline her for her outrageous behavior..
Further, she should also be taken to task for her reprehensible and shameful ad hominem attack on President Bush on May 20, 2004.
It is blatantly obvious that Ms. Pelosi fully embraces the philosophy of "blame America first" in her personal and political viewpoints, and that her personal and unbridled hatred of President Bush render her incapable of objective thought and action.
Her venomous attack on the Commander In Chief while our nation and our military forces are at war is an outrage and must be dealt with in a swift and serious manner.
If Nancy Pelosi is unable to keep her hatred of the President along with her bellicose and vitriolic rhetoric in check, then she should be removed from office.
Until that time, she must be reprimanded, by censure, swiftly and in no uncertain terms by both houses of Congress. At the minimum, Democrats must do the right thing by joining to censure her and then stripping her of her leadership position.
Ms. Pelosi is not fit to lead, and she has disgraced America -- and her fellow Democrats -- with her acerbic rhetoric.
Please take action against Representative Pelosi now.
To Recap Her Past Behavior:
On 5/21, Minority Leader Pelosi said this:
"I believe that the president's leadership and the actions taken in Iraq demonstrate an incompetence in terms of knowledge, judgment, and experience," Pelosi told reporters gathered to hear her remarks.
"This president should have known ... when you decide to go to war you have to know what the consequences of your action are and how you can accomplish the mission," Pelosi said.
The House Democratic leader added, "There was plenty of intelligence to say there would be chaos in Iraq following the fall of Baghdad."
"Bush is an incompetent leader. In fact, he's not a leader. He's a person who has no judgment, no experience and no knowledge of the subjects that he has to decide upon."
"Not to get personal about it, but the president's capacity to lead has never been there," Pelosi said.
"In order to lead, you have to have judgment. In order to have judgment, you have to have knowledge and experience. He has none," she added.
This is an outrage. Ms. Pelosi's comments are not a criticism of policy, but they are a direct, ad hominem (personal) attack on the President for mere political gain in a time of war -- and reckless ones at that, for they give our enemies aid and comfort.
The Republicans were quick (for once) to respond:
Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign Chairman Marc Racicot addressed John Kerry, saying, "As leader of the Democratic Party, John Kerry needs to repudiate Nancy Pelosi's efforts to blame American deaths in Iraq on the President. No one is to blame for these deaths in Iraq but the terrorists who are trying to prevent freedom from coming to the Middle East."
Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie said, "To angry Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy, terrorists and militia aren't responsible for the deaths of U.S. soldiers, their commander-in-chief is. And our servicemen and women, in putting torture chambers 'under U.S. management,' are no different than a regime that systematically tortured, raped and killed its own people."
"The San Francisco/Boston Democrats led by John Kerry have now adopted Blame America First as their official policy," Gillespie continued in a statement issued to the press.
Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL) said, "Mrs. Pelosi has the right to disagree with President Bush, and it is clear that she has a different vision from the President. But her comments questioning the President's competence cross the line."
"We are in the middle of a war and in the middle of a political campaign. Mrs. Pelosi's comments were meant to inspire her political base. But who else do they inspire? That is the question she should ask herself," Hastert continued.
"Her comments are also wrong," Hastert said.
Further, Hastert said, "Was it incompetence that put Saddam Hussein in jail? Was it incompetence that disbanded the Taliban? Was it incompetence that spurred the fastest economic growth rate in twenty years? Was it incompetence that created the highest home ownership rate in history?"
"Nancy Pelosi should apologize for her irresponsible, dangerous rhetoric," House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) told CNN. "She apparently is so caught up in partisan hatred for President Bush that her words are putting American lives at risk."
For these reasons, I urge you to contact your Representatives and Senators today and DEMAND that they issue a formal Censure (reprimand) of Representative Pelosi.
Take action here.
Further, you can write a letter to the editor about Ms. Pelosi here.
No, not at ALL peaceful. These Socialist/Communists/Fascists organizations always have to have some symbol, such as the Hammer and Sickel, clenched fist clutched flowers, hands holding a globe, red flags with gold stars, examples of which tip them off right away.
Thankyou, jm! Done!
I just watched it and she was absolutely and without a doubt choking back tears throughout the entire interview. She got particularly emotional when discussing Bush in a more personal way and even claimed to like him personally. It was at this point that she shed a very visible tear and wiped it away with Kleenex. This was one of the most pathetic interviews I have ever seen on MTP. It's as if she knows she's sullying a good man and might actually feel some remorse about it. Maybe that's a reach, but I think the game is way too nasty for her and she's just not up to it.
Pelosi's words are symptomatic of her small stature.
She is unworthy to walk in the President's shadow, and she knows it.
She will be gone soon enough, and is of no consequence before then.
Thanks !
LOL! I love it !
I did a Google Search for "DSAUSA Rose" and it came up with THIS site that has it:Is that the one ? I hadn't seen that one before that I recall.
Note on my Google Search above that your previous thread comes up!:Write AGAINST Nancy Pelosi Friday!
Please take 30 seconds for this quick "letter to the editor"
Great post. I am constantly disgusted with the complete refusal to expose these ties. The medias refusal to report this along with their censorship of the true nature of the anti war movement is vile and treasonous.
Pelosi was totally incoherent and non-responsive to Russerts' questions, but I wouldn't classify her performance as "losing it". Her "bursting into tears" was one little teardrop.
The woman is obviously in need of psychological help, but this thread is somewhat of an exaggeration IMHO.
What happened to O'Reily's much vaunted "looking out for..."? Nailing the existence of the "progressive caucus" as just code for socialists in the USA is right up there with exposing teh BS in washington. Instead he would do a creampuff interview of her without any effort into a background report. OReily should take note, Nail Pelosi because nobody will miss this nutjob.
The sample letter should leave out the "bursting into tears" reference. Anyone who saw MTP knows that at the most she had an irritant in her eyes.
By leaving that in, we make ourselves look like we are making up stuff just like the Dems. It questions our credibility.
Thanks ! The Biased Lamestream Media is disgusting alright .....
I assume you're referring to Bill O'Reilly on FOX News ? Did he have Pelosi on recently ? She should be exposed, and FOX would the ones that could, if they just would !
Agreed. We watched the re-run of Pelosi & while she did appear befuddled & unsure of how to answer several of the questions & she did dab one tear, I hardly call that losing it. I was severly dissapointed.
I wanted to see her bawling like a welfare recipient whos check got lost in the mail. (Forgive me for that un PC remark, I am after all an evil Republican) heh
Good Lord! Do you really want that many people hurling their steak dinners back up? How would the waitresses make any money if they have to spend all their time cleaning up spew caused by the sight (or even just the thought of the sight!) of those three witches baring it all (or any part!). Indeed, burkas might be in order for those three. **Full-body shudder!!**
Mine too.
Meet the Press being cut/replaced. . .this is troubling (though not surprising).
Martin Sheen has a semii-famous photo of himself wearing duct tape like that. It's funny how these Hollywood nutcases who have reporters hanging on and reporting every inane utterances they make complain that they've been silenced.
Tim Robbins is on drugs when he's standing in the packed ballroom of the National Press Building in DC and complains that HIS VOICE isn't being heard. Yet Tim, all those people you see in front of you, the lights, the cameras, they are drug induced images that aren't real. Now go give Suzie an orgasm so she'll give you some spending money...
