Kidnappers cut throats of nine hostages, 25 rescued [Khobar]
Sydney Morning Herald ^ | May 30, 2004 | AFP

Saudi special forces rescued 25 hostages today when they stormed a building where suspected al-Qaeda militants had already slit the throats of nine people, a survivor told AFP.

Among the dead were seven Asians, a Swede and an Italian, said Nijar Hijazin, who had himself been taken hostage at the housing compound in the kingdom's Eastern Province yesterday.

"The nine had their throats cut by the kidnappers when they tried to escape at night by the stairs," Hijazin told AFP, watching the removal of bodies.

Hijazin, a Jordanian computer engineer, said he was rescued along with 24 fellow hostages and brought out by the roof.

Sporadic shooting had been heard from inside the apartment block after helicopters landed about 40 troops on the roof amid loud gunfire from automatic weapons just before 5.30am (12.30pm AEST).

Shots had rung out throughout the night, including an intense volley three hours earlier, however calm returned by about 7am.

Al-Arabiya television reported the leader of the militants captured, although there was no official confirmation.

Unfortunately, some were probably Filipino. From maids to engineers, there are a large number of Filipino's working in S.A., and their plight isn't always pretty.

Yeah, you want to talk about civil rights being violated-if Saudi Arabia had any-Jesse Jackson would be all over them for how they treat their "asian" workforce.

I hope the Saudis torture any surviving terrorist b@st@ards to find our how to find the snake den that controlled them.

My next hope it that the Saudis eradicate everyone in that snake den and everyone connected to it. It would be fitting if the Saudis found the snake den was in one of the Wahabi mosques. It would make excellent footage to see the Wahabi mullah being dragged outside, having their hands tied behind their backs, being given a short (about 10 minutes is how long capital trials take in Saudi Arabia) and then having their heads severed.

My final hope is that the Saudi military (I know. The Saudi military may not be capable of doing this.) is filmed ringing every Wahabi mosque in Saudi Arabia and using tanks equipped with flamethrowers to destroy those mosques as King ibn ibn ibn Faisal (or whatever his his name is), wearing his Friday do to mosque cheap Italian bistro table cloth headgear goes on worldwide television to state, "Wahabism is not a religion nor is it a branch of a religion. Wahabism is now -- and always was -- an organized criminal activity. Any Wahabis we find who survive today will be tried for crimes against humanity and dealt with as we dealt with their leaders today."

Every Muslim may not be a murdering terrorist, but every murdering terrorist has been, and is, a Muslim.

Well, I have to disagree a little there in the case of Timothy McVeigh but I'm not so sure there wasn't a muslim connection there either.

Non-muslims, who insist on staying in Saudi,
should be berged.

I have a friend there who's husband works for Saudi Aramco. She is an American. He is a Saudi national and a nice guy. They have 3 children. Should it just be her that gets berged or their 3 half American children as well?

The sorry fact is that to do so would involve "eradicating" quite a few members of the Saudi royal family (of which there are literally thousands).

In typical Arab fashion (I know of no race on Earth so capable of complete self delusion) they will blame "Zionists", "Crusaders" (that's us, folks), or anyone but the actual people responsible. The only Arabs they might eventually go after would be Saudis of Yemeni extraction but I wouldn't hold my breath even on that.

Timothy McVeigh was a Muslim?

Judging by the uncanny resemblence of John Doe #2 to Jose Padilla, I would say there is a strong possibility that McVeigh had Muslim backers.

Is your friend quite sure she is his only wife?
.

It has been my experience that some Saudis who are definitely nice guys, have an American wife with whom they live, and whom they treat quite well, but are also married for clan reasons to one or two other Saudi women, whom, and whose children, the American woman might not ever meet.

Also, can your friend leave KSA with her children whenever she wishes? Can she drive an automobile in KSA? Can she appear outside the compound without her head-to-toe covering? Can she attend Christian services at a public building?

We can all just get along with Islam, as long as we agree with their customs and obey their wishes.

It seems to me that this whole episode was an attempt to drive up the price of oil even further.

In which case, the Saudis will make a nice bonus from the Great Satan.

I doubt that the Saudis will try all that hard to stop these attacks on oil workers.

My question is does any of that warrant her being beheaded? Did Nick Berg deserve his beheading just because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was naive enough to trust people erroneously? I guess some of the not so smart decisions I have made in my life could possibly warrant my beheading if some people on this board were in charge.

Asians" (wonder what that means)...it's a pretty generic term......

It means Phillipinos and Indians. Saudi Arabia runs because of the cheap imported labor.

I am suprised at the aggressivness of the Saudis. I didnt think they had it in them to pull something like this off.

Great work!

No doubt because these prisoners only had their throats slit by Muslims, instead of having panties put on their heads by Americans.

Obviously a story like this doesn't fit with the media's agenda.
