Ah yes, I agree. And that is also what makes them so dangerous now.

Can't hurt their feelings now, can we?

Brigitte Bardot fined for slurring Muslims in book

Former French actress Brigitte Bardot was fined 5,000 euros (6,000 dollars) by a Paris court for writing a book in which she declared disgust with her country's tolerance of Islam.

The judgement added to a number of previous decisions which have found the 69-year-old of provoking racial hatred in her expression of right-wing, xenophobic views.

Bardot's publisher, Rocher, was also fined 5,000 euros for last year bringing out the book, "Un Cri Dans le Silence" (A Cry in the Silence).

Bardot, who lives in the French Riviera town of Saint-Tropez, was not present for the verdict.

Two civil rights groups, the Movement Against Racism and For Friendship Between People and the League of Human Rights, brought the lawsuit because of several passages in the book.

One of the most incriminating sections read: "I am against the Islamisation of France! This obligatory allegiance, this forced submission disgusts me.... Our ancestors, the elderly, our grandfathers, our fathers have for centuries given their lives to push out successive invaders."

The two groups which sued the ex-actress were each awarded a symbolic one euro in damages.

A complaint over a tirade in the book against "mixing our genes" with non-European immigrants -- taken in context to mean Muslims -- was not upheld.

In its verdict, the court ruled that Bardot had deliberately tried to draw a link between Islam and terrorism by mentioning the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States in a chapter on a Muslim holiday celebrated in France and elsewhere.

It found that the book argued that "the presence of Muslims on French territory and only seem undesirable to the reader, who is ineluctably led ... to reject members of the Muslim community through hate and violence."

France has Europe's biggest Muslim community, estimated at five million out of a total population of 60 million.

In her defence, Bardot admitted in court last month that she may have been too direct in the expression of her views but she did not seek to hurt anyone.

"It's my overall view of a society becoming completely decadent, where it's like mediocrity has become more important than beauty and greatness, where there are more dirty, badly kept people invading the world," she said.

"After Hightower, the mediator made jokes about Dick Cheney having an "undisclosed heart attack" somewhere. Then it was time for Huffington to take the stage. In the middle of her glib remarks, a telling anecdote appeared. Last year, Huffington ate Christmas dinner with some Greek-American friends, during which she had an interesting conversation with their 11-year-old son, Constantine. Constantine, a Bush supporter, told Huffington that he could convince her to vote for Bush in the upcoming election, and that he could do so by asking her two simple questions: (1) Do you want to keep more or less of your money? and (2) Do you want to get serious about the war on terror?Needless to say, Constantine didn't change Huffington's mind. She thought the clever lad was "asking the wrong questions."

-------

The above is from that post as well. Reassuring to see that an 11 year old has more sense than a room full of these Bush hating idiots. Also telling remarks about the viciousness of these people...making JOKES about Dick Cheney's heart condition! These people are a group of self-serving snakes! Hillary's comments about Soros...truely sickening.

I am sure that with this week of mourning for a man of principle like Pres. Reagan; Soros and his ilk will be gearing up for more viciousness in the coming weeks. The thousands who are paying tribute, just brings more clarity to the fact that we have President Bush in office now, and he also stands by his word, and is looking-out for the safety of our country. Those on the Left alway overlook the standards of "regular" Americans with their hateful protests. Come November, I believe that there will be a landslide victory; no matter what the polls are saying. I think that "regular" Americans will vote in droves, just as they are showing up to honor Pres. Reagan.

A very sobering prospect.

At least one friend should be moved from Seoul to Singapore, shortly. LOL.

I don't think USA cities would escape unscathed such an event. WWIII would likely erupt.

I am surrounded with co-workers that are glad Reagan is dead. I kid you not. I don't know it must be the area, where I came from originally (Yonkers NY) it was different and the people were not as ignorant (well not all of them). I am not going to argue about Iran-Contra and Iraq, why should I waste my breath. Sometimes I could kick myself for not completing college and getting a bigger and better job, and then maybe I would be surrounded by smarter people? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, incurably in love with the people and the place.

Plenty plausible to me.

LOS ANGELES – A stolen laptop computer put 145,000 UCLA blood donors at risk of identity theft because it contained their Social Security numbers, birthdates and other personal information.

The UCLA Blood and Platelet Center sent a June 5 letter notifying donors about the November theft of a computer from a locked van. The letter, required by state law, was sent to everyone who gave blood over the last 15 years.

The information on the computer was protected by a password but it lacked sophisticated encryption codes that UCLA now uses, said Dr. Michael McCoy, a spokesman for UCLA Healthcare.

Officials at the University of California, Los Angeles, said they only realized the significance of the theft last month during an internal evaluation of data security.

"There's no indication that any of this information has been used, and we've acted promptly to notify people," said Dr. Priscilla Figueroa, director of transfusion medicine,.

"This is particularly devastating to people who were doing the right thing: giving us blood to help save other people's lives," she said.

Meanwhile, another laptop was reported missing two weeks ago from a UCLA financial office. It contained information on another 50,000 to 100,000 people, and warning letters will be sent in the next few weeks, UCLA officials said

After reading this, I am tempted to ask all of my medical providers to sign a legal document to state that they will be held liable if my information is ever deliberately or accidently revealed. Most insurance medical cards now include the patients SSN...which I am against. I also have had long discussions with medical staff where I have been paying in cash and have refused to divulge my SSN.

Also store clerks have demanded my drivers license when I have returned items to a store, with a receipt and had paid in cash. I always refuse their requests for my license. If I have paid in cash and have my receipt and the return is within the alloted 30 days...I will not give them my personal info.

Am trying to think of the Rumanian prophet who became an American . . . Christian . . . died a year or 3 ago . . . predicted essentially what you are saying. Said to his relatives, if he died, it meant what he predicted was close at hand.

What was his name . . . Probably have a bunch of his visions on my HD somewhere.

I am finally getting around to doing some specific background research and I started with GWEN, since jereseygirl's posts on GWEN's activation sparked my curiosity. I wanted to share an interesting link on GWEN with whomever else is curious.

Good post, all4one. That is quite alarming.

I have now decided to outright lie about all my personal info, as much as I can get away with when dealing with all retailers and the healthcare providers I do not see on a regular basis. Enough is enough.

Train derails in South Bend

Associated Press
June 10, 2004

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Seven cars of a freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed today on the city's north side.

None of the hazardous materials spilled and there were no evacuations after the 3 a.m. derailment, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

Several tanker cars ended up on their sides, and the derailment blocked some streets in the area.

Authorities said the tracks were heavily damaged.

Thankfully, I have found that those I know who are more Left leaning have actually surprised me this week with their reverence and thoughtful attitude toward Pres. Reagan. That is why I am even more hopeful about the election.

Some of those liberals have also brought up the Iran Contra and deficit arguments as well. But I then remind them that if we had a president who was funding the military and keeping our country strong and safe like we had for the 8 years with Reagan; President Bush would not have such a mess to clean up!

And of those who supposedly back Clinton and admire Hillary...I alway ask just one question, which always and I mean ALWAYS leaves them speachless. So if Clinton and Hitlery were so great, in your opiniion how has your life been made better by their 8 years in office? I have NEVER received an answer!!! They usually stammer about the so-called internet boom etc. But no one has ever named a policy or fact from the Clinton presidency that they feel has made their life better. They only know the "sound bites" from the liberal media. But with everything since Sept. 11th, their sound bites only ring false every time.
