Excellent post. He addressed the very issue I have been wondering about. With all of our advanced technological capabilities, it would seem to me that we would be able to "see this coming from a million miles away." There are enough monitoring sites around the globe that, if something this devastating were headed our way, there's no way it wouldn't be seen FAR in advance, and there would be no way to "hush it up." My 2 cents, FWIW.

Now a dumb question, I do not have a calender with holidays
on it, so will ask, "When is Labor Day?"

As is the 6th of Sept part of the big weekend celebration.

Do I recall correctly, that the 6 and 9 have a meaning, goes with the 19. But I will never find my note on that, it was

Yes, G-8 is a total worry, after this fool trip over seas that the President is on.

But the terrorists will give each other more 'brownie' points if they can make the hit on America's soil.

The tiger is arabic caligraphy and it from what my teacher told me it relates to one of the stories in 'Arabian Nights' but I can't remember exactly what it says, I am pretty horrible at reading the "caligraphized" text.

I believe osihesaar is the creator/moderator of the group. Also, the only poster so far. I believe all the moderator can do is delete a message, not alter the contents of a posted message. All messages submitted to the group have to be apporved for posting by the moderator. I submitted two last night and they have not appeared yet. Either osihesaar hasn't gotten around to it yet or osihesaar didn't approve of the content. Mt second message was a simple question meant to draw a response - "Are you really 83 years old?". Birthdate listed on the IH profile is August 15, 1920. If osihesaar is lurking here then the I just blew it. :(

For something traveling, say, 100,000 miles an hour, that's 10 hours. Even a departing earth satellite is going 17,000+ MPH.

Lots of near-hit asteroids are discovered with only a couple weeks notice, sometimes by amateurs.
