"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia - Tens of American, European and other hostages were released Sunday and a gunman believed to be the lead Islamic militant holding them was arrested, a Saudi security official said, adding that two other gunmen were "in the process of being arrested."
We are the "Stotters" who make ourselves aware of the enemy who wishes to do us harm
I posted a similar response on TB2K also.
I am a submarine veteran and have experience in that part of the world as well.
I do like his scanner setup though....I am very jealous.
Your Navy post is very clear to me............
"We are ready and we are where we are needed"
"Don't Mess with the U.S. Navy"
My worry is, "Did all the other countries get the message?"
My Granny always said "Walk softly and carry a Big Stick".
I didn't know until a year ago that the quote was from Teddy Roosevelt.
It looks as tho that is what President Bush is doing, he has put all the world on notice, not only notice, but has the parts of the world that will support us sailing with our Navy.
Good planning.
G8 SUMMIT NEXT "TERRORIST" TARGET?
(03.06.2004)
There are indications to suggest that the next "terrorist" attack on the US may occur at the G8 Summit, Sea Island Georgia between the 8th and 10th of June 2004.
What better platform to make a political statement than a meeting that hosts leaders from all the major countries in the world? But of political benefit to who?
Such an attack would certainly indicate the "usual suspects", but would they really want to anger the rest of the world and bring that much heat on themselves? Would they even have the capabilities of getting past such security precautions?
Who else could benefit from an attack on this scale? There have been many reports that the 9/11 attack was not created by Osama bin Laden, but was produced by America itself in order to gain support for the war. Most of these reports are automatically dismissed by the average American as crackpot ideas from conspiracy theorists. But are they? There are a number of "holes" in the facts that have been issued by the government on this "attack" and many questions remain unanswered. Whilst it is hard to imagine the USA being behind such an horrific act, it can not be ruled out completely. The recent events in Iraq (the abuse photo's and the Nick Berg beheading) have shown that even the American Military are capable of torture and the Berg video had more holes in it than an old dartboard!
There are a number of factors that give us cause for concern. Reports of an "imminent" terrorist attack have been pouring out of the White House at a rapid rate over the last week or so, based on information from "credible" sources. Unfortunately, these sources have no faces and it's hard to say whether they exist at all. Where do they get information that says the "terrorists" are 90% ready? Or that there are 18,000 potential terrorists at large and as many as 20,000 jihadists, or Muslims recruited to fight a holy war, were trained by al-Qaeda in Afghanistan since 1996. We doubt very much any terrorist would know this information, let alone the US government! So why are we told this information?
Some of the reports have "hinted" that an attack may be of a chemical or biological nature, but this appears to be an assumption which is not based on information received. Is the government giving the "terrorists" suggestions, or do they know something we don't?
The Federal reserve have been raising the Money Supply (M-3), by considerable amounts. Are they expecting some disaster that will affect the economy in the very near future? Do they know or suspect something too?
The US Navy has also begun an exercise. This was announced apparently in December, but has just started. A coincidence?
We realize that the security surrounding the G8 Summit needs to look at all possibilities and this may be the reason for stockpiling huge supplies of antidotes and other medicines to combat any chemical or biological attack. But is there another reason why they have taken such precautions in this area?
There have been sightings of mobile missile launchers in the area around the G8 Summit location. What sort of attack are they expecting that requires such equipment? Has bin Laden purchased Jet Fighters and missiles since 9/11?
Hopefully, our worries will be unfounded and maybe sufficient publicity will deter any such thoughts (should they exist at all). But should the worst happen, we urge everyone to examine the details of any such attack (whether at the G8 Summit or anywhere else in the US) carefully and not let their anger cloud their vision in any way.
In view of the "warnings" that the US government have apparently been receiving, perhaps it would be wiser to postpone the meeting alltogether rather than take any chances? Let's hope we shall not be reporting on the deaths of thousands in a weeks time!

SP,
What are the Arabic words for "day" and for "month"?
I personally think that that
MOST FITTINGLY
applies to the time when the AC sets up his image in the Holy Of Holies in the new 3rd Temple in Jerusalem. At which point the Jews realize he's not REALLY their Messiah and start heading for the hills as he slaughters them by the 10's of thousands.
Of course, I also believe it has relevancy for many of us before that, as well.

FR won't accept the Arabic script so I'll have to transliterate
Day is Yum (Yoom)
Month is Shahr

Grovers Mill? Give me a break, Orson used that one too...nice diversion though.
Okay, you got me there. I'm not familiar with canoe clubs. Are they similar to yacht clubs? Fill me in here please.
Ohhhh???
Canoe club == naval service
Thanks. Sorry, I'm brain dead tonight and I think it shows!
Interesting . . . and getting more interesting.
Has anyone hereon come up with a rating system for the various puzzle pieces?
For example, we could rate them say 1-10 on:
1) Believability (A) intellectually
(B) in our gut
2) Immediacy 1 = within 24 hours; 2 = within 48 hours; 3 = within 72 hours; 4 = within 1 week; 5 = within a month; 6 = within 2 months; 7 = within 3 months; 8 = within 6 months; 9 = within 9 months; 10 = more than 9 months off.
I suppose they could be divided into a few categories--such as:
A) TERRORIST NON USA
1) BIO 2) CHEM 3) NUKE 4) OTHER
B) TERRORIST USA
C) METEORS & SIMILAR
D) VOLCANOS
E) QUAKES
F) MISC OTHER
G) SUPER WIERD TINFOIL, TESLA, ET, UFO,
H) STRANGE MOVEMENTS OF OFFICIALS
I) STRANGE MOVEMENTS OF TROOPS, SHIPS ETC
IT SEEMS TO ME, that if we rated such--perhaps a pasted in option at the end of each doc posted . . . Those replying could give their ratings . . .
Someone with the time available could compile such and graph it in Excel. I might be willing, if I could keep up with it. Depends on what's going on around here. Would need a couple of backup helpers to insure coverage.
Then we'd have some at least numerically summarized data which we could watch for spikes above the average baseline. Escalating spikes within a short time could communicate greater urgency regarding preparedness and nailing down other options.
I realize it's all subjective. But it's a LOT better than nothing. And, we'd have the data already in terms of the reports we'd be rating.
And, SUDS--Subjective Units of Distress have been shown in a lot of research to be rather remarkably reliable over time. Just using that as an illustration to suggest, this COULD develop into a really viable guage of at least PERCEIVED threat level.
I thought of this because with this post, it seems to me like
THE NUMBER OF RELATIVELY SOBERING QUALITY PUZZLE PIECES HAS SUDDENLY ESCALATED THE LAST 3-7 DAYS. AM I ALONE IN THAT PERCEPTION?
But I'm just guesstimating about that. If we had data about it, we'd have a lot more of a siginificant puzzle piece to consider in our graphed data summary.
Am I making sense to anyone else???
THANKS.
Would be particularly interested in your response.
