Dead Briton dragged through streets after Saudi attack: reports
Sat May 29, 7:41 PM ET
LONDON (AFP) - Britain's newspapers said that the body of a British national feared killed in attacks by alleged Al-Qaeda-linked gunmen in eastern Saudi Arabia was dragged for over a mile (1.6 kilometres) behind a car.
According to the Mail on Sunday and The Observer, a British oil company executive was definitely among the victims of the attack at a compound in the Saudi oil city of Al-Khobar on Saturday.
Security forces found his body a mile away from the residential area where he was killed in front of his work colleagues, the newspaper said.
The assailants, suspected Islamic militants, led attacks against two oil facilities in Al-Khobar, then took an unknown number of civilians hostage at a nearby housing complex.
At least 11 people were reported killed so far in the violence, but numbers were expected to rise as Saudi security forces besieged the assailants, who were holed up in a building with the hostages.
One American was confirmed dead among at least four Westerners reported killed.
Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz said about 10 Saudis and foreigners were killed. He put at "four or five" the number of attackers "who have taken refuge in the compound where they are besieged."
The suspected Islamist extremists later released eight of their captives, who reported that more than 50 people were still being held.
Shortly afterwards gunfire could be heard from the hostage drama scene.

Standing before the EU parliament in Brussels on May 16 2001, French EU parliamentarian Paul Marie Couteax made a stunning statement. After condemning Israel's actions to defend itself against Palestinian terrorism as the "theocratic excesses of this religious state," Couteax declared that Europe should supply the Arab world with nuclear weapons. In his words, "I have no hesitation in saying that we must consider giving the Arab side a large enough force, including a large enough nuclear force, to persuade Israel that it cannot simply do... |
In other news, dog bites man.
I'd wager they're saying this, in complete earnestness (and blaming Bush, too), over at DU....
wait until the Arab world uses some of their gas, bio or eventual nuclear weapons on Europe ... oh yes, it is coming ... Europe, or at least part of the population of Europe is deluding itself that the crocodile of Islamic terror is going to ignore them ... (no offense to peace-loving crocodiles) ...
oh wait, I forgot about Spain ... no wait, Europe did ... or at least this clown from France ...
the prophecy about Ishmael's descendents is coming true ... his hand will be aginst everyone and everyone's hand will be against him ... and they're bringing it upon themselves ... wait until they tick off the Chinese ...
Then which way shall I find Revenge's cave?
For these two heads do seem to speak to me,
And threat me I shall never come to bliss
Till all these mischiefs be return'd again
Even in their throats that have committed them.
Come, let me see what task I have to do.
You heavy people, circle me about,
That I may turn me to each one of you,
And swear unto my soul to right your wrongs.
The vow is made.
Shakespeare's TITUS ANDRONICUS was his potboiler, a revenge tragedy that seems ripe for our times.
"At least they didn't make him wear ladies' undies on his head"
Yup, good thing. At least they were not torturous, because our media would never stop showing it.
(LOL pathetic, but true)
Just call the victim James Byrd. The coverage will go wall to wall.
Religion, in general, has been one of history's greatest killers (....asbestos suit donned for the perfunctory "man has free will" nonsense.....).
Or put a glowstick in his butt.
however, there is no New Testament basis for killing for Christ ... nope, not one verse ...
the qur'an, OTOH, has quite a few ...
a call to national duty is another thing in time of war ...
It is time....to fry their @ss.
Not to fear John Frigging Kerry says he tends to talk to terrorists so he can better understand why they act the way they do. Maybe we can pay them reparations and they will play a little nicer. God save us all if he is elected.
Not true ...
The Thuggees did it for Kali, the Earth Mother (1850's)
The Aztecs did it for their gods (1400-1600's)
The Carthaginians did it for their god Moloch
The difference between them and Islam ? They have been wiped out. I hope God let's history repeat itself one last time.
ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS, going as to WAR! By the way, that was the theme song for the Bull Moose Party's convention when they nominated Teddy Roosevelt for POTUS!!! (It's true cause I saw it on PBS)(Snort!)
We have the power to vaporize these sonovabitches-we want to vaporize these SOB's-so how come our employees in DC continue to ignore our wishes and play kissy assey with these monsters instead???
Please see my #40, above. The Thuggees have returned and are havin a revival!!!
Pick a side, Buck-o. But if you are standing in the middle, the Islamakazis will lop you head off but the Christians might invite you to a pot-luck dinner. Your choice.
The terrorist attack and hostage-taking in Saudi briefly interrupted "Headliners and Legends" on MSNBC, and two similar canned pieces on CNN and FOX, before the WWII Memorial event chewed up the rest of the afternoon news coverage. FOX covered the Saudi story a bit more than the other cable news outlets, but their effort was lacking.
Note to Religion of Peace: Don't pull this crap on a weekend (especially a holiday weekend). If it ain't on American TV all day then it didn't happen. And if you've finally ticked-off the Brits, well, they won't ask our permission to take revenge. They know you better than we do anyways.
Hmm let's see the following leaders killed millions of people because the people would not convert to the leader's religion.
