It was a wonderful Freep even though it end prematurely by a sudden downpour. We did manage to outlast the lefties. It started about a half an hour early with Trteamer, Bullet Bob, and Roy and Roberta from the Fife and Drum Corps and your truly. By the time Jim, Sheila and Chris arrived we took over three corners and the traffic responded with enthusiasm
We managed to Freep until 12:30 before the skies opened up and some more much needed rain fell to the earth soaking everything in its path, including us. I didn't get any pictures of the rain as I was busy with the bullhorn enjoying the rain. I guess I never learned to come in out of the rain.
We decided to cut the Freep short and head over to Johnson's Corner to dry off and enjoy some lunch and conversation. Sheila got her flowers and we all introduced ourselves and had a great time. I forgot to keep track of everyone that joined us for dinner. I am sure someone will post a list. The only regret I have is that the Robinson's could not stay longer.
Here are a few pictures and I am sure more will follow.
The SouthWest corner before the rain
After the rain when we all huddled under a welcoming tree.
No Freep would be complete without a shot of 'them'.
Here are a few shots of the after Freep lunch.
Yours truly with Jim. We are much wetter than we look, or maybe not. 8-)
This is how they left us. Columbia, Missouri give them a big warm welcome!
The great weather in colorado did it again nice one minute raining cats and dogs the next. The Freepers did prevail through it all. What a great Freep the all the Freepers that showed up : ankle biter, fivetoes,Trteamer,Mollynme, cardcarrying, fire engine red,scale-justice-capitan,Robert Teesdale & son Bullet bob co.We had a great time meeting Jim & Shelia they are great people it was a honor to stand and Freep with them. I only had one idiot cuss at the president today she was a low life on a nice looking motorbike , it was a shame to ruin a good bike with trash like thatonthe back.
The lefists did look so sad having to walk by so many Freepers today it was so great to watch. When it started to rain they all looked like drowned RATS. The lunch after the Freep was great to sit and talk to Freepers that had come up for the lunch. We had not seen Beaversmom for quite awhile and man have their children grown over the year. It was great to meet some of the Freepers that we have read on posts but never seen it was great to put a face with the writing. To the great Freepers in columbia , MO we hope the weather is good for your event with Jim & Shelia FREEP ON!
Colorado Freepers Bump
Colorado Freepers Bump
Yes! Looks like you guys are winning! Let's hope Jim stays ahead of the storms on his drive.
The article I had in the paper must had hit a nevere with the local lefist, We got the mail today and it had a letter addressed to me and it had a photocopy of the Presidential IQ Report stating that W is the lowest of all to be President and a note typed at the top of it : No american doesn't support the troops ...an unjust war is another story. If the media did'nt report the barbaric murder of a us citizen how did you hear about it? Maybe a few of the honks are saying "get out of the road!"
I guess I have done a good job upsetting the little rose colored world the left live in and I will continue to do that. We must never give in to the hate and appeasement the left loves so much.
Thanks for the report, and the pics look great.
Great job, Meek. Can I have one too? Lol
WOOOHOOOO! Thanks for the pings!
Great FReep, Colorado FReepers! Looking at the pics it's obvious you had a blast together, showing support for the Military and countering those useful idiots. You know my blue eyes are green now. LOL! I'm sooooooo jealous y'all got to spend some time with Jim and Sheila. It's great that they're getting to meet so many of the folks who contribute to FR.
It sounds like you're having typical Tennessee weather out your way....sunny one minute, a deluge the next. Happens all the time here throughout the summer.
*HUGZ* all 'round and have a happy and safe holiday weekend!
Looks like the weather is passing to the north of Jim.
I was VERY impressed with the amount of support shown, especially in a "college" town. I didn't get the feeling that any of the honks were telling us to "get out of the road" LOL!!
SHEILA GOT HER FLOWERS!
Thanks Colorada freepers for remembering that!
The pictures are great, and I sure wish I could have been there! I almost stowed away in the back of the van! :-)
Just don't forget to bring flowers for Sheila! I am counting on you guys!
The time really flies when you are with like-minded folks! We had a ball today, soaking wet and all. CardCarryingMemberVastRightWC looked like he had fallen in a lake by the time he loaded all his signs! LOL! We got a little soggy, but our troops go through lots worse. It was our pleasure to be out there.
It was so nice to see my old FReeper FRiends, and to meet those who's names I recognized from past posts. FReepers are so much fun to be around, they are friendly, warm, entusiastic, and patriotic. A nice combination. The peace-niks look like an awful bunch to have as buddies, glad they are not mine. I did give them a little greeting in French as they waited for the crossing light.
Due to our long drought, being soaked by rain is kind of nice. Cold, but nice. A million dollar rain for the farmers, and a free watering of my lawn. The 45 minutes we got to FReep went way too fast, the horns were just starting to get warmed up. When fivetoes got out his bullhorn and lectured the peace-niks it was funny, they hadn't seen a bullhorn for at least a year, and looked stunned. Yes stunned, it is a universal reaction of leftists when encountering FReepers. I got some good photos and will send them along to fivetoes.
Jim, Sheila, and Chris, THANKS SO MUCH FOR COMING, you made our day! It was so nice to meet you all and FReep together. With all the young FReeepers we had at lunch, the future generations of peace-niks are going to have had hard time of it.
(fivetoes, the pictures are coming at you)
What kind of flowers does Sheila prefer?
Thanks all for the FReepin' in Colorado! We had a good time FReepin as well!
So far, the weather is going to hold out on Monday..no rain, so far. I am lookin' forward for Jim and Sheila to come to Columbia for the Memorial Day Parade and lunch!
It's going to be an eye-opening election cycle this time around!
Pinging my ping list**
If you have been pinged before, well ping again!
Sounds like a blast. Can't wait till our turn on Thursday.
