It was a wonderful Freep even though it end prematurely by a sudden downpour. We did manage to outlast the lefties. It started about a half an hour early with Trteamer, Bullet Bob, and Roy and Roberta from the Fife and Drum Corps and your truly. By the time Jim, Sheila and Chris arrived we took over three corners and the traffic responded with enthusiasm
We managed to Freep until 12:30 before the skies opened up and some more much needed rain fell to the earth soaking everything in its path, including us. I didn't get any pictures of the rain as I was busy with the bullhorn enjoying the rain. I guess I never learned to come in out of the rain.
We decided to cut the Freep short and head over to Johnson's Corner to dry off and enjoy some lunch and conversation. Sheila got her flowers and we all introduced ourselves and had a great time. I forgot to keep track of everyone that joined us for dinner. I am sure someone will post a list. The only regret I have is that the Robinson's could not stay longer.
Here are a few pictures and I am sure more will follow.
The SouthWest corner before the rain
After the rain when we all huddled under a welcoming tree.
No Freep would be complete without a shot of 'them'.
Here are a few shots of the after Freep lunch.
Yours truly with Jim. We are much wetter than we look, or maybe not. 8-)
This is how they left us. Columbia, Missouri give them a big warm welcome!
I wish I coulda been there. *sniff*

When my oldest gets a little bit older, we'll both be out there with y'all again.
Things are just a bit tight right now.
Great pics Tom..at work now and almost dry.
Wouldn't you say that the lefties look just like drowned RATS.
Yes, even before it started raining... :)
Didn't make it, but managed to share the same rain, anyway!
It would have been great to be there :O(
Way to go ! Thanks for the great pics !If more pics are posted, will someone please give me a ping/bump?
Thanks !
NEAT! FYI, Kim.
Just got some weather from METRO. Looks like it is going to be a tough drive for the Robinsons on their leg to Colby. Thunderstorms and tornadoes out that way.

And I thought they were traveling in THIS ! :^)
That's being towed behind the Freepmobile.
hahahaha ! :^D
We look forward to meeting them at the Columbia Memorial Day Parade on Monday morning, followed by lunch at the local Longhorn Steakhouse.
Thank you, military and military families, for your service and for our freedom; and thanks, Jim, for FreeRepublic.
I had a fine time today, Tom! My first official FReep was a memorable one....meeting Jim Rob and all the regular FReepers, plus the RAIN! Hope to catch more of these events. 8^)
