Your scenario sounds very plausible, I'm not one who is particularily given to conspiracy theories, but it does not seem as insane as most I have heard.

I have a theory myself.
The Screaming you hear is well before they start cutting his head off, and, it appears it is NOT from Berg.
In fact, Berg does not seem to fight at all!
I wonder if he fell for the 70 virgins lie, and went down voluntarily as a Martyr, to be used as a pawn, williingly and intentionally killed, but made to look like a murder in retaliation for Abu Grhaib?

It seems that he typically has 2 stories. One for the press and one for the fringe element who support his website. They usually get totally different stories.
Not the same story twice (with 2 perspectives), there are things he just does not discuss in both places.
I don't think this was his cameraman. I also don't think that Michael got enough from Berg's comments to advance his agenda. Also, the inclusion of Berg's comments would also beg for Moore to address the kidnapping and murder of Nick Berg.
O'Reilly is going to have Moore on his show, as a guest. E-mail O'Reilly and ask him to ask Moore about the Berg interview.

One wonders if the Nick Berg appeared in Moore's film before Michael Berg's name appeared on FreeRepublic.... hmmm, whos fault is this.... REALLY!?
2) Berg was PRO-WAR. His dad is anti-war, but Nick Berg was PRO-WAR. He supported the liberation of the Iraqi people. If he granted an interview to Michael Moore, it was probably only to share his idealism with a camera.
Michael Moore, media whore...oops I mean hound, is getting alot of mileage out of this supposed interview video.
People entertaining ridiculous theories only adds fuel to the fire.
It's far more likely that Berg, being pro-war etc, thought himself a bit invincible and with his apparent love for derring-do and adventure, got himself too close to the belly of the beast in Iraq.
Based on the facts so far, this is the only conclusion a rational person can come to. So many unanswered questions regarding Berg...the Moussaui connection...chance? Unlikely.
Always disliked Moore, but to see him happily go up in his tux to accept the Palme D'or, with the possibility of Berg's life on hiss hands...if true, he is a bigger bastard than one could imagine. Enterprising reporters should be investigating these connections.
Its an interesting theory. I think that either way Moore should be explaining to whatever government agency is investigating it how he came by film of Berg no one else seems to have.

It is clear that Berg was working for Moore. He took a lot of Moore's footage and turned up some really great stuff. Enough stuff for another two or three really, dramatic flicks. No, really!!
But Berg (and this is the part that the investigators will find; Moore has video tapes and taped calls and emails) wanted a much bigger cut, a share and not the salary that Moore hired him for. Moore had(has) the stuff in a can; Berg threatened and enlisted his family in Philadelphia. Moore saw an easy way out and dropped a dime on Berg.
Moore paid some Iraqi killers, folks he knew through his anti-American contacts in France, to kill Berg and take him out as a financial threat. The father would never accuse Moore if it meant missing a shot at Bush, so Moore is home free.
But, it just isn't right to out a celebrated movie hero and talk of his murder of Berg. As a movie legend, Moore deserves, well, more.
