The "camel corps" of Foreign Office Arabists, many of whom work for Arab interests when they retire, will return to the policies that they have pursued towards the Arab world for generationsWe hear a lot from these guys on our airwaves.
Imagine how Israel, a 56 year old country has been the cause of 1300 years of depression in the Arab world, defies logic at my house. A free Iraq with shake up the neighborhood for sure.
As to public opinion, it's worthless in the middle of a war, it doesn't allow for the silent majority IMHO.

Umm, I saw the "Chalabi bullet hole" photo, and there was no bullet hole. Broken splintered glass yes, bullet hole no. Is there really a bullet hole photo or is this another mass media myth? I searched a whole bunch of stories on Chalabi + bullet + hole and while they described this famous punctured portrait in detail and speculated on what it means for the future of Iraq none of them actually showed it.

I suppose I only add to the stereotype but I can't understand what the rest of the world is going on about. Don't they realize that most of us actually don't give a rats A$$ for their love and approval? Why would I care what they say when I don't care what they think?
Let them all hang, the best of their lot moved here a century ago.

The villain was Governor George Wallace of Alabama, who stood as an independent in the same election, and believed in segregation. It's true that the United States had racial problems and committed great injustices against the black population. But just show me any other nation at any time in history whose people fought against those wrongs and sought to right them with the same assiduity and commitment to moral rectitude as the people of the United States. There are none.

Love the sarcasm, it's a great article. Somehow I think that most Brits get it, it's just the "elite" who are having a problem with adding 2 + 2
