Rock Against Bush, Vol. 1
Occam's Chainsaw

Posted on 05/28/2004 10:37:36 AM PDT by occam's chainsaw

Well, well...looks like I have a few names to add to my boycott list.

I just wanted to bring attention to a new CD I noticed in my local music store entitled "Rock Against Bush, Vol. 1".

According to this site, "Money from sales of the album will go into print and television ads encouraging young people to vote Bush out of the White House. Fat Mike told MTV.com he hopes to have "one or two famous punk rockers" appear in the ads."

...and while I was posting this, I came across a follow-up CD to be released: Rock Against Bush Vol. 2!!

these bands are about as punk as vanilla ice was rap.

if the Misfits and the Ramones were still alive they would play for a bush cd (maybe) and Murphys law (for those not in the know, check out California pipeline, best ronald reagan punk song EVER!) anyway maybe they are not really republicans, but I think they are.

-okay so they might not be playing at any GOP conventions anytime soon but the Misfits are pretty right wing.
and these guys are real punks unlike the current "punk" bands.
Being right wing in America today means being more a rebel than being a liberal

Anything can count, but I was hoping that some metal and punk bands could get together and show some support for our president.

Damn damn damn, Dave Grohl is going to be on the Rock against Bush Vol 2.

I didn't need to know that, I love the Foo Fighters and now I can't look at them the same. Mannnn.

Guitarist Johnny Ramone, not the late Joey, is the outspoken Republican.

Pretty lame list of the usual tattooed, nose-ringed hate spewers. Funny to see old commie Billy Bragg on here...probably still sleeping on other people's couches and bumming meals in his 40's.

I think Rush is libertarian.

the band rush is heavily infulenced by Ayn Rand, so i count them as republicans. Though they might not be a big fan of Bush's christianity i suspect most people aligning themselves with the teachings of Rand will vote for bush.

if for (some reason) you want to read about Rush and Rand go here

BZZZZT!
Wrong answer.

This is now illegal, according to McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform. This would be a PAC, and PACs are not allowed.

This is right up there with MoveOn.org, and I'll bet this group refuses to testify when called on by the FEC, too.

all the ramones were pretty Right wing (heavily pro america) then they got that new drummer marky ramone who was a lib.
hmm and strangely enough the band wasnt as good when they got marky ramone for a drummer. I suppose republicans make better drummers than liberals.

Just like nobody ever heard of Johnnie Cochran until the O.J. trial, all of these unheard of prima donnas are just looking for publicity and notoriety...

Nothing to see here...move along.

More punk bands than you would think.

Not nearly enough, though.

Luckily I haven't really ever heard of most of these lefties. I am not of the MTV generation, and I am sure that they are working overtime to defeat Bush anyway.
