How dare Al Gore disgrace this nation
Boston Herald ^ | 5/28/04 | Boston Herald editorial staff

Posted on 05/28/2004 1:09:57 AM PDT by kattracks

He never mentioned Nicholas Berg. Or Daniel Pearl. Or a single person killed in the World Trade Center. Nor did former Vice President Al Gore talk of any soldier by name who has given his life in Iraq. And he has the audacity to condemn the Bush administration for having ``twisted values?''

Gore spent the bulk of a speech before the liberal group MoveOn.org Wednesday bemoaning Abu Ghraib and denouncing President Bush's departure from the ``long successful strategy of containment.''

Yes, the very same strategy that, under Gore's leadership, allowed al-Qaeda operatives to plan the horror of Sept. 11 for years, while moving freely within our borders.

Gore even had the audacity to defend the perpetrators of the prison abuse - by name - while denouncing President Bush [related, bio] for ``humiliating'' our nation.

How dare he. How dare a former vice president of the United States go beyond disagreeing with the current president's policies - a right of anyone in this free country - and denounce Bush as ``incompetent.''

How dare Gore say that Americans have an ``innate vulnerability to temptation... to use power to abuse others.'' And that our own ``internal system of checks and balances cannot be relied upon'' to curb such abuse.

And this man - who apparently has so much disdain for the nature of the American people - wanted to be elected to lead it?

It is Gore who has brought dishonor to his party and to his party's nominee. The real disgrace is that this repugnant human being once held the second highest office in this great land.

I invite Algore to make another similar speech every week until election day. And I invite Ted Kennedy, Shrillary, KKK Byrd, and Flip-Flop to join him.

I will sit back, watch and laugh as these clowns make fools out of themselves, Kerry's approval rating plummets, and Bush wins reelection.

Go ahead Al. Make my day!

This is wartime.

This Gore speech is treasonous.

Treasonous speech in wartime is something we cannot afford.

Why?

First, it encourages our enemies to beleive they can divide us and win.

Second, it demoralizes our own people.

Such speech needs to be stopped, not the least because the act of stopping it will serve to bring home to all our people the fact that we are at seriously at war.

I fear that a majority still thinks this is not a real war, but something more like the "War" on Poverty or the "War" on Teen Pregnancy.

No sirree, this a war for survival, and it is about time we started acting like it or people will not take it seriously.

I think it is about time to erect a fair amount of temporary but secure plywood and galvanized corrugated steel housing somewhere in North Dakota, Montana or Idaho, a few miles from the road, with no phones, and no microphones.

And put it to judicious use. Probably no more than 500 need be relocated. Just a thought.

My heartfelt thanks to the editorial staff at the Boston Herald.

Yes, repugnant is a perfect starting place. . .With a mind full of poison; algore, like all fools for the Left, are stuporous in their self-induced, congratulatory arrogance.

That algore, et al, even pass for less than a joke, anywhere in our country, is surely equal to an orange level warning; or should be.

What Gore said was not just repugnant, it was both seditious and intended to offer moral support to our terrorist enemies. He should be arrested and tried for treason.

This will alienate more voters than it attracts!

Algorezeera is toast.

I continue to believe that Bush will be re-elected in a landslide.

Do you think this event will be the undoing of the libs the same way the "memorial" service for Paul Wellstone was for Mondale?

Amen! ALGore's treason, as well as others of his ilk, need to be addressed in the proper way. Enough of this soft handed approach - the Dims have shown that they neither honor nor acknowledge the bounds of decency in their debate. The Dims quest for power has overwhelmed their reason, and as such they have proved - once again - that they are unfit to lead this nation.

No, simply because Gore is now a fringe character...but there's a strong possibility that one or more of the far left wack groups will go over the line during the campaign....and that will work to Bush's benefit..
