The Press Secretary, SecDef, SecState, and the President should be reminding the press 100 times a day of the proven links between Iraq and al-Qaeda.

Exactly. They fail to counter bad PR.
Clinton was a master at heading off bad PR. He would have his minions in front of mic's and cameras sometimes even before the bad hit the news wires, and certainly ahead of the evening network news.

It's not about truth. For example, Truthout.org is about getting the truth out of the message and the lies in.
We could have found several thousand tonnes of sarin, several hundred thousand missiles to launch it and the entire underground research lab with partially assembled nuclear bombs and it still wouldn't be enough.
We could have had video of SH shaking hands with OBL with closed captioning and it still wouldn't be enough.
We just need to close ranks and get out the vote this fall. And beat up on your area and state Republican chair so that he/she does the same to the local candidates. Let's take nothing for granted.
