Key enhancements include:
improved file sharing and directory services for Mac (AFP), UNIX (NFS), PPTP, and wireless networks improved OpenGL technology and updated ATI and NVIDIA graphics drivers
improved disc burning and recording functionality
iPods connected via USB 2.0 are now recognized by iTunes and iSync
additional FireWire audio and USB device compatibility
updated Address Book, Mail, Safari, Stickies, and QuickTime applications
improved compatibility for third party applications
previous standalone security updates

An PC user from 1987 called and wants their argument back. Yeah? I evaluated over a dozen restaurant-operations packages with POS. Most were adequate. A couple were outstanding. I bought one of those.
None, absolutely none, ran on Macs. I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant POS and backoffice running on Macs.
That's a current argument. When it comes to specialized apps, Macs aren't even on the menu.

good systems run on Macs.
There are restaurant systems designed for Macs. And they are utter crap from what I've seen. And I have never seen a real restaurant running one.
It's pretty obvious, once you need to make a living with computers, why Macs have less than 5% share.

None of these good systems run on Macs. I'll have to take your word for it. I know nothing about the restaurant industry. But there are no technical issues that would prevent the ultimate restaurant point-of-sale software from being developed for the Mac.

You probably did not have a Macintosh to load demo software so you only evaluated demos of PC software.
It's pretty obvious, once you need to make a living with computers, why Macs have less than 5% share.
Yes, it is because of ignorant and biased opinions like yours, Hank. I work with many professional people... some use Macs, some use PCs, in their businesses... those who have the LEAST problems are those running the Macs. I make a LOT of money off of the PC users.
