Lab Results Counter Bryant Accuser's Story

Crime laboratory evidence shows the 19-year-old woman who has accused Kobe Bryant (news) of rape had consensual sex with another man hours after she said the basketball star raped her, MSNBC reported on Wednesday.

New evidence may incriminate the accuser, but I don't see how it make Kobe Bryant a better man. Whether it makes KB a better man or not is not the issue. He already admitted adultery, to his wife, to the world. For those who say "hit 'em where it hurts--in the wallet" to athletes and public figures who think they can do whatever they want, Kobe has been hit there. Loss of endorsements, loss of image, loss of peace of mind, loss of practice time with his team...the list goes on.

However, the issue is not to make Kobe Bryant a better man. It is to make him (or, since he is only accused and not convicted, to keep him) a FREE man. If she said that she didn't have sex afterwards, and she did, that goes against the credibility of the accuser, and perhaps even questions whether or not she perjured herself under oath.

It will be interesting to see what happens next. For the moment, legally and in the court of public opinion, he is innocent until proven guilty. We'll see what happens next.

Some have said that his efforts have been heroic, playing under the strain of this all season. I disagree. Heroism is that you keep it in your pants, and your pants on (so as to include both genders), until you are married, and once so, stay true to your spouse.

Since that horse has fled the barn, you can say that he has performed the job of basketball incredibly well, especially on the days where he has had a court date, followed that evening by a game...as he does tomorrow night. On that, anyone could agree.

Obviously, I don't know for certain if this girl was raped or not, but thinking of myself as a juror I'd have to make an educated guess, and my guess would be not only that she's lying, but that she knew and knows exactly what she's doing, that the whole escapade was PREMEDITATED!

I don't care what her particular mental health lament is, she should do time if she has falsely accused this man of Rape. It is a heinous thing to do, and I'll grant her insanity defense when she can prove to me that she thought she was screwing in a light bulb when she agreed to the sex. Short of that, if I were the judge, I'd be looking into proceedings against her.

Doesn't she claim to have been injured by Bryant? I'm kinda wondering how she could go on to have another encounter so soon if that were true...

This girl obviously needs help. On the other hand, Kobe will probably drop 40+ on the wolves next game. Well, in all fairness, that has been Kobe's pattern on the days where he has a court appearance followed by a same day game...as will happen tomorrow.

Just think, if tomorrow's game were at Sacramento (which it would be if the Kings had won that last game...ya rite) that would probably take a bit longer to get there. Maybe not. It still might be close, anyway: though he picks up an hour because of the time zone change, he loses an hour and a half because of the game's early start time.

"So you really think a prosecutor wouldn't prosecute an innocent man? How naive of you."

I think you are close, but not quite there. A prosecutor would prosecute an innocent man, but NOT if he knew there was info favorable to the defendant that was bound to become public knowledge. Such prosecutors are usually evil (ambitious), but not stupid.

Pammy's puttin' the squeeze on Hurlbert. I don't see how he can continue this charade once this hits the Eagle County Press, and people like Craig (I forget his last name) get hold of it.

Craig Silverman. Don't forget Celebrity Justice, The View, Oprah, ET, Access Hollywood, Court TV, E!, Tragedy TV (aka the Fraudcast Lamescream Media...political BUMP)...did I miss anyone?

This woman is probably lying, because I don't see how any woman who was REALLY raped could engage in sex within hours of said rape.

Maybe she got raped again by some other guy a few hours after getting raped by Kobe.
