Three German Men Face Weapons Charges for Potato Gun

Three German men are facing weapons charges after being caught with a home-made potato gun.

The men were seen by a police patrol driving away from a lake in Kirchhain-Niederwald at speed.

Officers gave chase and stopped the men who told them they'd been trying out the potato gun in front of spectators.

The men said they'd got instructions on how to make the gun from the internet.

They'd used bits of piping and a fuse from a gas stove. They'd also used several spray cans to fire the weapon.

The men were also carrying a number of potatoes, and told officers their gun could fire potato pieces more than 300 yards.

The potato gun is classed as a firearm and none of the men had a permit to own or carry one.

Mine didn't make much of a sound. It made a very low THUMP sound. Of course I used hair spray as a propellent. I drilled a small hole in the combustion chamber and inserted an oven lighter. The lighter was just a flint that sparked when you twisted a knob. The overall length of the gun was about 5 feet but the damn then shot a hole in the barn. :/

It should be pretty loud, even with the hairspray.
Maybe some kinds of the spray are less potent than others.
I think some have water mixed in with the propellant, which may inhibit the burn rate.

okay so I think I'm ready to go. Only one question, do I just spray the Aquanet down the open end of the "gun" and then seal it quick with a potato or what?

;How did these people almost conquer the world?

Well actually the world was largely sleeping at the time.

They successfully conquored france(+) and poland and some other small now EU countries.

Then the British the US and Russia got pissed off and that was that.

(+) France has now figured out how to avoid ever being conquored again. It has surrenedered to every nation in the world so it can never be conquored again.

This is obviously a harmless *Salad Shooter*:

German Potato Salad

Prep Time: approx. 10 Minutes.
Cook Time: approx. 45 Minutes.
Ready in: approx. 55 Minutes.
Makes 4 servings.

---------------------------------------------------------

4 potatoes
4 slices bacon
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 cup chopped green onions
salt and pepper to taste

Directions

1 Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes; cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, cool and chop.

2 Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside. Reserve bacon fat.

3 Add the flour, sugar, water and vinegar to skillet and cook in reserved bacon fat over medium heat until dressing is thick.

4 Add bacon, potatoes and green onions to skillet and stir until coated. Cook until heated and season with salt and pepper. Serve warm.

Correct. Spray for about 2-3 seconds. Of course I don't exactly know how big your firing chamber is so you'll have to do some trial-and-error to get the result you want. You don't have to be quick about sealing up the chamber. good luck.

A potato cannon makes a "whump" sound. It can be quite loud at night. Auqanet makes a blue muzzle blast that's great...

My latest cannon has a combustion chamber. I use 4 inch pipe about a foot long. An adapter down to 1 1/2 inch. A threaded end piece with a threaded cap holds the ignitor. I load from the muzzle, spray in the chamber, slap the threaded cap on, aim, spark...Click!...Fizz...Ka-whomp!!!!

No joy!

No spark from the igniter I'm using, but boy did I get a spark from my better half when she got to wondering what I was up to in the garage!

I'll have to put this project on hold until she visits her mother next month.

heh-heh-heh
