We can't prevent everything.
We just have to do the best we can, and I am glad we have a President who is doing just that.
We probably will get hit again.
That will strengthen America's resolve.
Bring it on, terrorists. You will fail.

20, the number of terrorists on 9/11.
a good analogy to what you are talking about is auto theft. better policing techniques can lower auto theft dramatically - but its the joyriders and chop shop quick buck artists who are thwarted. a professional car thief determined to steal your vehicle, is very hard to stop.
the only way to stop small teams of terrorists like this is with intelligence information, you cannot expect border security to do it.

May God bless our efforts to stop the terror attacks...May he convey wisdom and strength to those who deter terror...May he bless this nation with victory in Iraq and the reelection of President Bush.Amen.

Trust me if I've thought of this, so have they. But just for the record I have given all my ideas to local Homeland Security folks and my friends in the FBI. It would take a world class lab facility (not something you set up in a garage!) to charge any sort of pressurized tanks as I outlined.

We are just not going to be able to put a soldier every 50 feet along the Mexican border or our coastlines and rotate them every 8 or 12 hours. Don't forget the 2,500 mile border with Canada, whose govt. is just as much an appeaser to the terrorists as france's.

My thought would be the fourth of July celebrations across the country. There are thousands of people at the fourth celebrations.Look at the map,the terrorist are positioned in all the major cities. If they had multiple strikes it would throw this country into chaos.

If you can accept the fact that the anthrax attacks were associated with the 9/11 operation, please note that the major news media (in the eyes of the terrorists) were the fist ones hit, to wit, AMI publications such as National Enquirer, Star, etc.
So why would the terrorists want to attack the Republican convention? Think about what the major and most important political party in America really is, where they are located, and why terrorists think that.

FNC just announced that further testing confirmed that it was indeed sarin in that roadside bomb in Iraq.

"it would create a landslide and a mandate for President Bush to retaliate."
Agreed again, but do you foresee any sentiment for appeasement--other than from the Bush haters, of course.

Heck, I don't even know what the total coastline of Alaska is, but if a terrorist wanted to land there with phony ID and enough money for a plane ticket, he's in your home town.
To: alnick
we knew it was Sarin as soon as it became evident that the media was burying the story. if it had been a can of Raid in that IED, that we claimed was Sarin, the media would have talked about it for 2-3 days.
To: Peach
I just read American Jihad, too. The map is on the cover, front & back. Emerson said some pretty brave stuff in there. I wonder how he's taking these warnings.
Well, on second thought, I think I already know.
To: oceanview; Joe Hadenuf
And not all the terrorists are going to be arab.
Two cases in point, Johhny Taliban from Marin County, Calif. and that National Guardsman from Washington state.

You've overrun my limited skills at punditry. But I will take a stab at it, and let the chips fall where they may:
1. Bush is re-elected. (Look at 9/11, look at Spain.)
Wouldn't the attack in Spain indicate a Kerry win?

Another freeper reminded me that if my computer goes down, you will lose those pictures! So if you really like them, save them on your hard drive. Well, they are wonderful pictures and I thank you for posting them. I did save them. I have a folder on my hard drive just for pictures of the President and Laura. I love them!
