Actually that 5 speeches is a bit misleading I heard Brit say..He will have opportunities to address things coming up.
It's fantastic!
[This is a fast-access FAQ excerpt.]
This phrase, meaning "to deteriorate rapidly", originated in the
U.S. in the early 20th century. A handbasket is just a basket with
a handle. Something carried in a handbasket goes wherever it's going
without much resistance.
James L. Rader of Merriam-Webster Editorial Dept. writes: "The
Dictionary of American Regional English [...] records 'to go to
heaven in a handbasket' much earlier than [...] 'hell,' which is not
attested before the 1950s. The earliest cite in our files is from
1949 [...]. 'In a handbasket' seems to imply ease and and speed
[...]. Perhaps part of the success of these phrases must simply be
ascribed to the force of alliteration. DARE has a much earlier
citation for another alliterative collocation with 'handbasket'
(1714), from Samuel Sewall's diary: 'A committee brought in
something about Piscataqua. Govr said he would give his head in a
Handbasket as soon as he would pass it.' I suspect that 'to go to
hell in a handbasket' has been around much longer than our records
would seem to indicate." |
Hagel and Lindsey Graham supported McCain in 2000...citing their military background meshing with his. They were 'concerned' that GWB had no foreign policy experience. Both were considerably exercised at GWB's 'tactics' in South Carolina (they particularly reference the 'attacks' on Cindy and questions about JM being a Manchurian Candidate).
Ironically, this is the same complaint the Dems had about 'tactics' used against Max Cleland. They can't take it - but they sure can dish it out.
And he didn't even give his new Bush win/loss margin? Must have really been a short interview.
I wonder what size underwear she takes?
Whew, good news. Morris hasn't ever gotten anything right.
I always worry when Morris says the President did well...
Morris got Clinton elected twice. Morris knows about motivating voters to a candidate. Don't sell him short.
Would that the same could be said of the NEA.
Morris wanted the President to give a Touchy-feely, Clintonesque, peacetime speech. Keeps talking about appealing to women but it isn't women who are sitting around criticizing the way we're running the war, its a bunch of wannabe generals whining from the comfort of their armchairs.
O'Reilly said it was written as a good vs. evil speech and Bush effectively cautioned America that although it will be a tough go, we will persevere but he also felt Morris made some good points. Wonder if we were listening to the same speech.
Here is one former General who was very close to a camera following the President's speech.
Bernstein wrote an editorial today that was published on FR. He said that the prison abuse scandal was as big as Watergate and could/should bring down the president.
I scanned it quickly and that's what I took away from his article.
Thank the Lord for the "Mute" button.
Thanks for that!
Stop that..
Little Dickie toe sucker has this new really weird thing about "how" women think. He's dead wrong!
