Everyone keeps talking about McCain on the Democrat ticket. What if Bush tapped him as VP?
Think it is not possible?
McCain is pro-life, which fills the biggest concern for most Conservatives. (He trumps other popular names such as Powell, Ridge, Guliani, and Rice -- all of whom are pro-choice).
He brings military credibility, and a no nonsense approach that, while not popoular, is authentic.
More importantly, he is currently being lauded by democrats. In fact, Hillary is talking about supporting him on the Kerry ticket. Naming him now, puts dems in a very uncomfortable position, as they have all been building him up.
You think Bush wopn't do it? He will do and must do whatever he has to to get elected. McCain brings cross-over dems and moderates. He also is very atrtractive to independents. Bush would do it, particularly if Cheney says it is the best move.
You think McCain won't do it. Get serious. The man wants to be President. He ets to play white night in saving this administration. He gets the seat as heir apparent to the '08 nomination, and, in two years, he will be out of the House and campaigning. In essence, it would be a two yaer gig for him, where he will have real say and real independence. This is his last and best chance to be President.
I love Cheney. But he is almost certainly going to go to try to improve this ticket. In addition, he has no '08 future. The party must have an '08 advantage, and he has always known that.
Right now, Mccain is the best pick for all of these political reasons.
McCain could do less damage to Republicans as a Vice-President pushed into some corner office than what he can do in a divided Senate.
But McCain would never do it and Bush would never ask.
And he should raise taxes, pull our troops our of Iraq and name Hillary as his choice for next Supreme Court Justice.
"Any thoughts?"
Yeah, the only ticket McLame should be on is a ticket to France!!
Why do people persist in fantisizing about a new VP on the Bush ticket? He's already stated that Dick Cheney is his choice and will be running with him in November.
How about .... no
hahahaha. Then even Willard might be in awe.
IIRC, they did go over the top. Was this the State where they (was it Falwell's people?) went after his adopted daughter? To be honest w/you I don't totally remember the circumstances, can you elaborate?
If McCain were a waitress and Bush a customer in a diner, McCain would spit in Bush' soda and wipe her ass with the hamburger.
ARE YOU NUTS?? WHO NEEDS ANOTHER RINO...HAVE ENOUGH OF THEM COMING OUT OF THE FRUITY STATES IN EAST....ALMOST
AS BAD AS OUR TWO FLAKY SENATORS HERE IN CALIFORNIA....OH
HOW WE NEED MORE REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS..ESPECIALLY SENATE...SCHUMER, CLINTON, ETC. MAKE ONE ILL..THEN THOSE
TWO FROM VERMONT..THEY HAVE DEANITIS..GEEZZZ...Jake
NO! McCain would be a terrible choice.
Unlike CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC and CNN, McCain knows what "torture" is -- and it ain't wearing panties on your head.
no way it ever happens ... only thing McCain is going to be used for is as a comparison, no matter who Kerry picks for VP, they are going to look REALLY, REALLY LAME in comparison.
Is Cheney a better conservative than McCain?
Obviously so.
McCain backstabs this administration so much that I think I'm watching a Janet Leigh movie.
McCain will be on the ticket sometime after hell freezes over.
Yours is the lamest "article" I've seen posted in a while. Your so-called rationale for McCain doesn't make any sense and Bush has already indicated Cheney will be the VP. Find something useful to post.
FOFLOL. Get Real ! There has never been, nor will there ever be, a day when President Bush craves power so badly that he'd actually choose to be in the same room with McCain. Ya see the problem with back stabbers like McCain is after the first blow they've lost their advantage.
Probably not. Will Bush suddenly switch parties and seek the Democrat nomination for president?
