My local Walden Books is already offering it for 30% off. The publisher's never going to make back the advance...

If that steams you, wait till you see how much local library systems will undoubtedly spend on the darn thing. Some metro library systems bought scores of copies of Hillie's last book. Bet the covers on most of'em have never even been cracked.
I heard Dick Morris say on a radio talk show last week that he was busy writing a two volume rebutal.

Yeah, I don't believe he ever set pen to paper. He had a team of ghost writers with access to his papers, and from time to time he'd have them in, snort a few lines of coke, and talk to them during the commercial breaks while he watched TV.
I've met Bob Gottlieb, a very smart guy. He'll treat this book like a Danielle Steele novel or like "Valley of the Dolls." It will be trash, but he'll make plenty of money on it. Maybe not enough to pay back the advance, but millions of copies will be sold, even though maybe only a tenth of them will actually be read all the way through.
...I'm sure his hand has had plenty of use.
...unless there are interns in his home.
He needs a chapter or two about his Daddy...and fourteen chapters about his Mama.
What a waste of taxpayer funds. Thats where all of his sales comes form!

That's the problem. Most likely the book stinks.
I Just noticed the title, "My Life"...he should have called it "My Struggle". It would have translated so nice into German.
