KEY Bali bomber Muklas has said he would "butcher" Prime Minister John Howard if he was given the chance.
"If John Howard appears before me, I'll butcher him," Muklas said in an interview for the Nine Network's Sunday program.
He made the threat from his Indonesian jail cell, where he is on death row for authorising the attacks on two nightclubs in Bali at a cost of 202 lives, 88 of them Australian.
He pointed to Australia's support for the US-led war in Iraq.
"America and Australia and the rest only understand the language of force, the language of bombs," said Muklas in comments translated for the program.
He said he was happy to die and said others would take up where he left off.
"My ambition is to be shot," he said, and went on to ridicule stepped-up security in Australia to guard against terrorist attacks.
"In Australia why would they want to guard the harbours and the railways?" he said.
"This is a curse from God, they be afraid of their own shadow. Just imagine, people are scared of their own shadow. It's the victory for the terrorists."

My first answer: I don't watch TV anymore, I got sick to death of the Iraqi abuse photos.
As for why the dude's on death row... you know justice works slowly. Now, multiply the slowness of American justice and factor in basic Indonesian indolence and sloth, and these bombers have every chance of living out their lives in jail.
Of course, I've long been a student of what I call the "F-111 school of diplomacy", which basically in this case works like this: Indonesia doesn't execute this scum in a reasonable period of time, we send a couple of RAAF F-111 fighter-attack jets over Jakarta, rattle a few windows of power.
If the Indons still drag their feet, we send back the F-111's - this time armed to the back teeth - and we blow up the prison the Islamic extremist b***ards are being held in.
The burn vicims always are so heartbreaking...their pain and their disfigurement if they survive is horrendous..
