Does Kerry Have Marfan's Syndrome?

Posted on 05/21/2004 11:42:35 AM PDT by The Sons of Liberty

Affected individuals often are tall, slender and loose-jointed. Arms and legs may be unusually long in proportion to the torso. Feet often are flat. The spine may be curved (scoliosis), and the breastbone may protrude or look caved in. The face may be long and narrow, with a high roof of the mouth and crowded teeth.

Sorry for the Vanity, but J. F'ing Kerry sure looks like he fits the profile.

Nope he's just tall. I've seen several cases of Marfan's and those people look much weirder than John-boy.

No, Marfan's for Kerry, he's just not attractive. In his defense, he can't help being ugly on the outside, but he sure can help being ugly on the inside.

Did you check out the size of foot on that daughter of his the other day?

Although we were blinded by headlights, our conversation did turn to Marfan's Syndrome as an explanation!

Abraham Lincoln had Marfan's. With the long face also comes heart abnormalities, and the victim usually dies before age 60 from heart failure.

Yeah, I had that thought, too. And he had a bit shaved off his chin at one point, so (believe it or not) his 2004 face isn't as long as his 1972 face. But I don't think his ribcage is narrow enough. I think he's just a horsefaced tall skinny guy.

Wasn't Lincoln supposed to have had Marfan's Syndrome?

There was speculation that Abraham Lincoln also suffered from Marfan's Syndrome. What the heck, maybe John Wilkes Booth administered what amounted to a mercy killing. The prognosis of the disease in not encouraging.

A good explanation of the effects can be found at:

Somebody tried to pin that on Abe Lincoln a couple of years ago.

I've had six cousins die before twenty from complications of Marfan.
